Might as well give it up I have talked to many people and that is their number

1 compalint that they can't keep up or afford to. I see it this way soe is

going to continue to come out with an expansion every 6 months now they may

even start doing 3 or 4 expansions a year who knows. I also hear allot people

say

that can't get groups which is sad but true you either play a solo class

beastlord, necromancer, mage, druid, etc and solo allot and maybe get a group

once and awhile or box which most of us are lukcey to have 1 account. I feel

that their is either a family social guild where their is never anyone online

and when they are online they are their to say hi and bye or selling in the

bazaar or 5 people at level 10 and your level 70 so what good does it do you.

I have learned you either belong to a family social guild or a high end rading

guild which their might be 10 on my server - xegony which I do understand allot

of people don't have the time to raid all the time or don't want to be required

to raid but since no more guilds in the middle your damned if you do and damned

if you don't. So simply put either have to deal with it and put up with it or

quit. I would like to see a pirate class a pirate berserker or pirate

beastlord would be awesome LOL but doubt that is going to happen since they

came out with the drakkon in tss but who know may just might btw if you look a

around pretty much all the zones prior to tss even the hotspots are pretty much

dead might see some straggers once and a great while!

That sounds a lot like the Corsair FFXI added in April with their newest expansion. I wouldn't complain though; Corsair's quickly become my favorite job in that game.

what about elemental pirates. like fire pirate with ability to cast a fire dmg add to thier sword and fire protection and a fire dmg spell that gets better as you lvl maby a dot fire type to. all just one spell that quests to get higher in lvl like the breathweapons of the drakks

fire pirate
ice pirate
disease pirate

the class would basicaly be a rogue but with one type of magic only a few spells
better swimming to start with. put boats in the game that only pirates can navigate

If they do have a pirate class I could imagine a special throwing weapon of Hardtack (aka Ships Biscuit) and since they had poor rations (Salt Beef or Pork, Bad water) and living conditions (almost all sailors developed stooped shoulders, bow legs and arthritis) they should have a str constitution, high disease resist, and not make a lot of money. The last note does not include the corporate raider.

Elne Clare just pointed out Ltcommanders comment about pirates starting out with bette swimming. Historically sailors did not learn to swim. It was considered asking for trouble, as in taunting mother nature. Swimming was considered "fighting" the water/ocean and sailors didnt want to do that. They depended on working with the ocean not against it.

End of sailors lore part 2.

Yes but through much viewing i know that the only pirates that cannot swim are the ones that ate the cursed fruit.

I personally dont like the idea of a pirate class. I know its been said already, but i think we can do better then that...

Pirate's could be interesting. What would be their special talent? Seems like they'd be another non-magic class? Wonder if they'll be expanding off Ysheka??

Maybe they'll make a Ninja too, for added PvP fun.

I personally love the idea of a new class - it's been a long time coming. A pirate could easily be a rogue/warrior/bard combo type, possibly an evil-aligned class.

As far as guns, a single-shot flintlock type of weapon would be cool, as long as they were expensive, rare, and not powerful enough to compete with magical equipment. Perhaps they could only be made by gnomish tinkerers, and alchemists would have to make the powder?

I love the idea of these "pirates" starting out in Ykesha, but I seriously doubt it would happen, since that's a completely different expansion (i.E. you'd have to have Ykesha AND the new expansion to play a pirate).

In any case, I feel what they need to add is not a new class, but a new race (yes, I realize we just got the drakkin - a letdown imo). Player-character centaurs, an avian-based race, an insectoid-based race, hell, maybe even a myconid/fungus type of humanoid race. It would add so much variety, but I admit I like a kind of high fantasy type of game. I just want things people will actually play - we need to have people come back to eq - so many have left, and that's a shame.

Just my 2 cents.

Good, becuase a pirate class would be to similar with the existing rogue class. If they do make a new class in the furture it should be a complety knew class with way diferent feature.
