Hi folks,
Just wondering of any of you had ever done a character transfer, and knew roughly how long it would take? With getting laid off, we are looking to cut costs, and my wife's account is up in January, and I can no longer justify the cost. Still, I didn't want to loose the two 50+ toons, so we transferred them and I want to make sure I have time to close the account. Any input would be appreciated.

First time I transferred characters, it was from Zebuxoruk to Morden Rasp and took less than one day. The second time was during the server mergers when it was free and took about 2 days. I suppose because a lot more were transferring at that time it took a little longer, but I figured even 2 days was pretty quick.
Took 3 days to transfer one toon from Povar to AB about 8 months ago.
Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

I think my server transfer was 3 days also.

Nearly two weeks for me...
Last weeks player of the week, tranferred her druid from Cazic to Povar. Time from request to transfer was 3 days. This was back in February.
I think Odz might be talking about transferring characters to a different account, not a different server. If this is the case, a few (4?) years ago I xfer'd my druid to his own account and it took less than a week.
I've transferred characters from server to server and to different accounts. The account transfer did take longer...a bit more than a week iir, while server transfer was only a couple days. Just my experience though...who knows.
You don't have to move the characters to save them though, only if you want to be able to use them on the single account. If you close down wifes account the characters will stay in tact virtually forever, and still by there if/when you decide to re-activate it???

My self and a friend are currantly trying to transfer a couple toons and were both advised it would be 1-3 weeks. He even called them and they said it would be like 3 weeks. Why is this? Just curious! Seems it should be done in a couple days.
I was told 2-3 weeks. Took about 24 hrs in the end. That was from KB to MR about 2 years ago tho....
