All these are available to the zerker in addition to having rogue dps from any angle.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn': 'melee DPS from behind' > 'melee DPS from the front' for ANY class. It is the case that the max Rogue DPS is from behind.

I get the drift of the above statement, but to be exact can you say a berserker gets the same dps from every angle? How do they decide the DPS for berserker in these studies? Is it average from any angle? Is the rogue's DPS only measured from behind? Shouldn't a true comparison be equal conditions?

Berserker probably also gets max DPS from behind, with no stuns, blocks etc. to worry about. Without a clear definition of how 'melee DPS' is determined, how do you compare 'neck and neck'?

of course attacking from behind bypasses defensive checks.. but berserkers CAN do 90% of max dps from any angle - as opposed to rogues, who are closer to 50%

You are correct, max dps for any melee class is from behind.

Rogues lose roughly 40% of their dps if they are NOT behid a mob before taking into account defensive checks. Other classes lose much less before defensive checks.

I would say that Rog/BER are neck and neck. Any differences show up situationaly or in equipment. I will say (and I'm biased as a 75 BER), that Rogues have a MUCH easier time getting decent weapons. there are plenty of them available that have Backstab mods, while the Ber choices are more limited and only have the VERY rare +Frenzy. Once the BER moves into later DON and above and has access to Clawhammer and Windfury, etc things get a lot more balanced.
I do laugh at the Rogues who complain that BERs get snare and frenzy given the Rogues have the sneak/hide ability.

Monks seem to have gotten a huge boost in DPS in recent changes and are now pretty damn good DPS and have their obvious advantages. They are often in very close second.

Knights/Warriors etc are all typically (relax, I said typically not always) behind in the DPS numbers.

Also remember that the answer to this question changes many times over the 0-75 Lvls, with different equipment, different AAs, etc. If you really want to know about a very specific situation, you'll have to give a lot more detail (like would a lvl 50 BER with WMBS out dps a lvl 52 ROG with Backbitter or some such).
