Yes, I was wondering what the highest populated server is? I want to create a newbie character and level it up the hard way, but still want a lot of people on the server. Any help? I don't like PvP servers.

SOE does not release server populations so any answer is really just a guess. I do know that many people on these boards are on Povar though if that helps at all.

Yeah, I might do Povar, can some people tell me the average amount of people on Povar PoK though?

I've played on the Prexus, Stromm, Rathe, and Antonicus Bayle servers, and it seems to me that I recall that the most peeps being online at any given time was on the Stromm server. I cannot say exactly what populations are on what servers, but I know that Stromm had a lot of people on at any given time ('cept early morning hours between 3-5 AM). The plus side is that buffs and such are usually obtainable with minimal effort with that many people in PoK at once. Also, Stromm is considered the "newbie" server, so a lot more tolerance (and help) is given to those who /ooc with tons of questions.
Downside? More people means (usually) more competition for camps and a lot more traffic in popular zones (Veksar is crazy right now). Another downside is that bazaar prices are outrageous. And, because it IS a newbie server, you're more than likely to see some really poor players and be hit up by the inevitable, "Hiya...do you have any money or items that I could have?"

A long time ago, you used to be able to display the servers in order of population. I wonder why they stopped doing that?
I played on both Stromm and Povar. There seems to be more people on Stromm, but not a ton more.
Anyone have any idea about Maeylin Starpyre?
I suspect Stromm, Povar and Maeylin Starpyre, in that order as being most populous and maybe the progression servers...but who really knows?? (cept SoE)

Another vote for Stromm, here. I've spent a lot of time there with many puppets and it's not only well-populated but also has a lot of good folks.
EDIT:
It seems to me that a few years ago you could view the online population at the server select screen. Was that EQ or am I confusing it with anther MMORPG?

They used to post the numbers just as you remember, but they stopped that a long time ago.

I have not played in over 2 years and was wondering if Fenin Ro Server was still up or did they combined it with another server. And since I have not played in over 2 years, would my characters still be avalible to find somehow or somewhere in the servers or when I opened my account back up. Thanks a lot.
Torvonnilous merged into Fennin Ro but the name is still Fennin Ro.
Your characters should still be there i believe SOE just never deletes toons. Except for during merges they deleted toons under lvl 10 that had been unused for some time.

That would be great if I could still get to my old Characters on the original server that I first started playing on. Is there very many people that play on the Fennin Ro server and how many total servers are still up on the original EQ. And how many people left EQ to go play EQ2?
Back when Everquest 2 was lauched i thought Everquest was doomed as my server was hit hard by that and all the other games that have been lanched.There is no magic number and if i recall correctly they stopped showing server numbers back in 2001 or 2002.I know alot toons come back after finding out all those other games aint like this one and are returning everyday.

I soon as I can get me some high speed connection where I live I will be back on Everquest. I had a lot of fun playing and I miss playing a lot. There is nothing like the original EQ!
The four oldest and original servers were the ones on top before they stopped the rank by population. This is probably still true.

Funny thing is that Daoc caused the who is on what server numbers to disapear, well in therory, but Daoc came out people started going to play it and numbers go poof. IMHO it was to make people not see numbers go vastly down and think oh **** time to bail a sinking ship. Certainly they wont be put back with WoW etc.
