CLR 1.0 epic - under 51?Follow

Right, I'm minorly ranting at the moment. Stick with me. /grin

I was bored last week, so I decided that I would go ahead and start the CLR 1.0 epic for my level 12 bazaar cleric; I have this habit with that character to get stuff that she'll probably never use for the heck of it - it's light entertainment. Anyways, I received all the Orbs, turned them in to Omat, and she got back her Orb of the Triumverate.

Wonderful. Avatar of Water spawns, CLR runs to do the turn in - and the Avatar of Water hands it back saying "I have no need for this XXXXXXXX, you can have it back".

Glee.

This reminds me of the change after the progression servers came out where you could not MQ Velious armors any more as you were required to be of the same class (ie. My RNG could not turn in just the plate armor piece and my wife's CLR turn in the gems to get the armor - the turn in mob said she wouldn't take anything from a Ranger).

I know this USED to work, when did they change it so it was level restricted?

There are no comments on Alla's atm (another upgrade going on?) so I can't see if anyone else has reported this too.

Anyhow - my apologies for the mildish rant; I shouldn't really be upset that a level 12 CLR can't get her epic 1.0 (yet - she can spawn Avatar of Water on command now, I suppose), I was just doing it for fun. Now it appears I'll have to level her in order to get it.

Ah, well. I guess I'll start running her through the low level TSS quests in Crescent Reach, then, for fun. She'll be happy to get out of the bazaar, I suppose.

Either that, or she recruits a Drakkin to sit in the bazaar for her. :)

I tried to start my BST's epic in the late 40ies and didn't get a response from the quest mobs, and that was some months ago. I don't know if it was ever possible to really start (except for quest item farming) before a char was 50...

if i remember right... it is a faction problem.. but as I said I maybe wrong.. part of all the epics are factions.. if your factions are not high enough.. you wont get your item... this means the cleric has to be part of all the kills or has to stay in one zone longer to get the faction hits needed...

I know on my shammy I botted him to get his 1.0 and when the final turn in came.. I got the message.. sorry dude your screwed... can to take a do some faction hunting.. which was basically just redoing the epic from the start.

this maybe your problem.. and a lvl 12 cleric wont be getting those needed factions any time soon..

If it was an issue with faction, the quest mobs would not respond to the 12 cleric at all - but they do; They follow everything correctly (from hailing and responses) right down to the on hand in of items you get the correct ones back.

It's just the final mob it doesn't work on.

/sigh

It's not an issue of faction, from what I can tell - all the correct NPC's responded to hails and text within [ ] when spoken by the cleric. As well, the final turn in mob (Avatar of Water) cons indifferent to everyone, I believe, regardless (it's not like the SHM epic, where it is on Truespirit faction).

Oh, well. Guess I'm going to hit TSS/Cresent Reach. :)

For all epics you must be level 51 to complete them. SOme you can start before this, such as doing the early quests for the paladin for Ghoulbane and the like, but you cannot finish any of them until 51. Been this way for quite some time.

You sure? I saw an authentic Magelo of a 46 ranger with his 1.0s It is possible he de-leveled but I kinda doubt it, although he did have some ornate pieces of armor come to think of it, but thoise can be had if you do a PoJ trial below level 55 iirc.

Dot, are you sure he had both? Rangers can get the Swiftwind before 51 but it's my understanding that they can't finish the Earthcaller until 51. That may just be a rumor though because I quit playing my ranger before he had a chance to get the Earthcaller.

A GM stated to me that the epic was meant for characters "near or around" level 50 to complete, and thus this is why the cleric will not receive the epic from turnin of the Orb of the Triumverate. No worries, that just means I have to level her. :)

Just 'official' word, as it were.

Aye he had both. I have a sneaky suspicion he had de-leveled at least once cause he was level 45 (a hair under 46) and had Ornate Armor.

Correct me if I am wrong but don't you need to be 46 to enter Plane of Tranquility and have done a PoJ trial to make this armor if you are under 55?

I have a 44 ranger, I will let you know how far I get with E1. I think you need to be level 46 to get the guy in Burned Woods (off Blightfire Moors this week) to talk to you to get to start.

Yeah, that sounds like a sac victim if I ever heard of one. Keep us posted on how your experiment with your ranger goes. It would be nice to see someone from the community actually try it.

Hey Dot, how's it going? I like cookies. Sometimes I wake up late and have to hurry to get to work. Other times I get up on time and don't have to rush. The other day I want for a walk and saw some leaves fall from a tree. It was cool. I had soup for lunch today. Yesterday I had a sandwich. I don't remember what I had for breakfast on Sunday though. I think some flowers are pretty. Do you like tuna fish? I do.

Okay, see you later.

We were able to get the Cleric 1.0 at level 40 on a new Drakkin Cleric. We had everything completed and tried to do the turn in at 36 but the orb was handed back. Once the cleric hit 40 we tried again and got the water sprinkler.

Glad to hear it was level. Will wait to start my young cleric on his epic now.
Oh and dot thanks for all your help in getting Johnwinnie and Elne's toon up to being able to group with the other members of AS.
Kriegs I have some oatmeal raisin cookies around somewhere.

It really pisses me off when SOE nerfs stuff and does not tell you. If they was not going to let you do your epic it should have been made clear. It would not have taken much effort to put a message saying something about not being powerful enough on the first turn in.

I also didn't know about the velious armor nerf. Yea it really throws the game balance off by letting people do a quest for armor that is mostly junk compared to current bazaar gear. I mean you have to earn faction to even do a MQ so honestly if a new player wants to the quest let them! OMG we can't have a lvl 10 warrior witha 45AC BP (which is the highest AC item if im not mistaken. By the time a player is lvl 30 they can easily have ALOT better gear then the velious dwarf armor. IF soe would put as much work into fixing bugs as they do nerfing maybe things would improve. Yea its sad Velious is the 3rd expansion ever yet orcs still run through the wall when they run. I wonder how many less bugs we would have (and less expansions) if SOE worried more about current bugs then churning expansions out.

I just noticed today while trying to farm HQ tundra kodiak pelts in eastern wastes how buggy pathing is still. Try to kill a orc and you lose them the second they start running because they pop through the wall. Can they honestly say that is: "Working as intended?"

Funny how bugs that ***** players over remain in the game, but I know good and well if there had been a bug that caused them to run and somehow help a player it would have been fixed within a week of the velious expansion, which has been several years now.

In any case you have good reason to rant. You did alot of work, camping, etc. You had alot of help and you did everything the quest ask of you. At no point in the quest did it tell you any required level? I know good and well it did not, I also did this quest with a friend. It only asks you complete certain tasks which you obviously did. If SOE does not want people of any lvl to complete epic 1.0 they should make it clear in the text when you first hail the first mob of an epic 1.0. I shoot the middle finger to SOE for once again ******** a paying customer.

Pssst - if you want to MQ Velious armor, just use a shroud of the correct class/archetype. I know, I've done it (RNG MQ'ing to CLR).

Still no way around the epic, though. I wish they'd let us shroud UP!

Bets on how long it takes for the shroud trick to work it's way up to SOE and nefr-city? I'm going for 3 months...

Somewhat related.

On Tunare, there is a level 37 Drakkin Warrior with epic 1.0.
