If you are only going to duo then go with shammy. Druid will not keep up with heals on unslowed mobs as well as shammy will with debuffing and slowing.

I will admit bias here, but I would choose a shammy also. The druid, will trump the sham in DPS with nukes and will out heal, but the sham with pet, pet proc spells (the puma line)will do better over time damage. The buffs that the sham can bring to the SK and slows on the mobs, will allow more battle time and less down time. It is nice that Dog can off tank for a bit if needed. Also, since you already have a snare with the SK, it makes the last 15% of a mobs life easy when Dog is killing them from behind and then returns while the SK is getting healed, pulling or what ever.

I would love to port but the druids have us hands down there. But since the SK can FD, and the sham can put Dog on the mob as a delay sacrifice to zone or gate, it isnt too bad.

Thats my .02!

Back when the world was large, and it was hard to get around, and ports cost 200pp - Druid.

Now, with PoK, etc, etc, etc - Shaman.

have an SK/Druid combo (alts, both 40 now). I can very well imagine, that the Sham/SK combo will be better later on, but (especially) the druids evac, snare and track are just so handy :)

edit: typo

Been experimenting with druid and shaman bots for my monk. Leveling monk from 1-55 switching every 2-3 levels between the druid and shaman. Druid level 52 and Shaman level 54.

From 1-40 the Druid was more convenient: DS, ports, succor. After level 40 the slows started to make a huge difference in taking less damage. By level 50 I wasn't switching back and forth between the two anymore. With Skinspike potions to replace the druid DS, and some heal potions just in case things got really nasty. IMO, Shaman is the better choice.

I agree that in the long run the shammy is better choice for all of the above reasons. Also there would be less downtime between mobs with the shammy canni ability.

I myself have just recently started doing this also... i have a paladin lv 75 and decided i wanted to have a partner... My original char was a shaman so i am biased anyway but i can say without a doubt that shaman is who you would want.

They have slow .. thats the big one .. even with the shaman only being 66 now with well no post 61 spells the slow is enough to let me as a paladin tank most any exp mob and heal myself ... life will be easier once i get ahold of the 62 or 66 heals ... and later shamans do get some pretty decent heals and some pretty powerful HoT's ... On top of that the shaman has the .... what i like to call "oh .. i have a spell for that" mentality ... pretty much anything you need done the shaman has a spell for..

The only thing i'm missing in my combo is snare but with an sk you have that
covered .. and thats really the only thing i can think of that a druid has over a shaman for a duo ... snare .. and they heal more but on unslowed mobs post 65 i doubt a druid has the mana pool to keep you up without picking your targets carefully or having to med after every fight ... of course thats opinion .. i've never really had an interest in the tree hugger class..

A little late on the reply, but I agree that a Shaman would definitely be a better choice. I've tried duoing both with my old warrior (granted, it was only up to 56) and I always had better luck with a Shaman as a second.
