Where can I find the quest giver for the Tox. mushroom hunt? His name or location would be a big help.

Then go do that, and let the rest of us enjoy our fun. Patches happen. Survive them somehow, please.

Toxxulia is Ninja Bard central, lol. Too bad there is NO WAY the familiar could keep up with a bard...

iirc, last years halloween quests only rewarded you with candy. It wasn't until you got the illusion and hailed the gobby in PoK that you got the final reward of the illusion mask. I'm betting this year is the same. Complete all quests available, then go recieve final reward.

Mushroom task giver is in PoK next to main bank i beleive he is called menelin or something

Pralak The Bonecaster is by the port-in spot in the dragon area.

Jillian Florantine is outside the water-mill.

Aragol Gloomflow is in the Northernmost (undead) cave by the river. The Foul Ichor seems to be rarer than the Fine Bone Powder.

Ok I did the earring quest 5 times yesterday and it took me about 15 min. on each toon....

Don't run around fighting over spawns....just kill the mobs and an area and after a few you will see them stat spawning around there......at least that is what I did

After all, it's about the fun--and we all know that working hard for our epics isn't fun... but candy is.

Did they promise epics with these quests? No, in fact it tells you the reward when you get the quest. If you want your epic I would say it would be a good idea to do the epic quest.. if you dont want candy dont do the quests that reward candy, simple as that. Now shut your goddam mouth.

Has anyone redone the bone mask quest line to see if it has better stats with the new level cap?

Overall, I'm not that adept at questing, However, being on the combine progression style.... I really looked forward to doing some, hopefully for gear, and I was Really shocked to find that there is no alternative to PoK given us here.. and that Soe didnt take that underwing for us given all the hard work we all have done here to make the progression servers a success. I really expected they would relocate the PoK quest mobs in the bazaar or nexus.

Yours In brotherhood,

Finished up the trick or treat quest after they finally put the mob into Befallen....for once my druid was VERY useful as she ported and tracked her way through 10 zones for a guild group.

The reward is same as last year; admission to the God MM and some caramel apples. I can't do the MM (I'm guessing you need at least DoD for ANY MM type quests), so visiting all the old world dungeons and zones turned out to be just a trip down EQ memory lane for me:)

not that you all dont know already, but the quests for candy baffle me a little. If your into the quest part, please ignore the next part of my comment. The rewards, the stat candy, can be gotten free of charge from the pumpkin and witch at the ent to East Cab, I'm assuming this means that at all the ents to each home town these two npc's, *jack and *jill, sell(give for free) candy and costumes. I got three stacks of something that had the best stats. Will go back for more tonight and load up my bank with the stuff. Doesnt say no rent....

I guess you need to equate it to the true holiday of Halloween. Halloween is not Christmas where you get and give cool, expensive gifts. It's a night to run around with your friends acting goofy, getting and eating sweet sugary snacks and trying to scare little/younger kids.

Yesterday I was logged onto EQ for 6 or 7 hours and probably gained one blue tick on my xp bar. We ran around, tried out costumes, collected enough candy to last til the New Years event, killed gobs of gray mobs, helped each other out and had fun.

There was a GM event in BB at one point. We all plowed in and helped the hordes of toons take down a few the the Dark_Mistresses minions. Again it was fun not only killing the Mistress's mobs but being able to have a responsive dialog going with the big bad-*** enemy character. At the end of the event was an ooc screaming match about who got the loot, what a waste of time, people were reportedly petitioning the event for drops, etc, etc. Kinda sad really.

Halloweens never been about phat lootz:D

Edit to add that the quested candy does have a bit better stats than the stuff given away at the home cities.

I noticed the candy does not last any length of time at all. I actually think it shoudl be labeled as something less then a stack. I had 4 stacks of the free stat food and went afk for about an hour. When I came back they was all gone.

I finally did the earring quest. I then realized it is close to worthless as a necro since I can't have the familar AND my pet. How lame is that? I don't see no reason to do the face item quest either. While it has nice stats, my mask has better stats and I practically live in skeliton form. Yet another useless item as a necro.

I think they should just change the earring to a clicky buff instead of a familar. For starts it would allow EVERYBODY to enjoy it. Also it is getting old seeing pretty much everybody with a mushroom man running around.

"Mushroom task giver is in PoK next to main bank i beleive he is called menelin or something"

What a worthless post! Don't even bother putting crap like this on this site. Save the useless babbling for your own personal blog.

The task giver - whose name is "a wizened hermit" and is a female Erudite located at 243, 415, -115 in PoK - is actually quite easy to find if you just look for a bunch of PC's horded in one area around MB. She asks you to collect toadstools, not mushrooms. You can read the entire dialog if you want, or just target her and say "toadstools" to get the quest. She gives the quest named "Toadstool Surprise" to you and you collect 10 Toxxulia Toadstools from Toxxulia Forest, which is just inside the Erudine portal.

Load up an "open" button from the actions window. That's the easiest way to acquire the toadstools. I don't have a character that can kick, but perhaps kicking or striking them in some other way may also help toward collecting. I was able to find my 10 toadstools within half an hour all in the NE corner of the zone.

Don't bother to collect more than 10. You can only get one reward for this quest, and even if you could get another you'd have to wait over 2 hours after completing it to do it again. Also, the toadstools and the reward are both no trade items.

The quest details misspell the questgivers name, calling her "the wizned Hermit", but it is in fact the same person who gave you the quest who wants the toadstools that you've collected. Return to her and give her 4 at at time (unstacked) until all 10 have been given and she will give you an earing. This is obviously a nice reward if you currently do not have an earing. Even if you bought or otherwise acquired a cheepo earing, this one will probably be better.

This quest is worth doing for a character of level 20 or less. I would not recommend it for a higher level character.

A note about other PC's:
You may want to do this quest during non-peak hours since tons of people are currently flocking to it. If you see someone heading toward a toadstool, be please do not loot it out from under them. Instead, if you see they are having trouble figuring out how to collect it, let them know about the "open" action button. There are plenty more and they spawn quite frequently, so be patient and enjoy yourself.

Oh, one last thing - get a "Trick or Treating Bucket" from Spooky Sally before heading out and equip it in your secondary weapon slot. Then you'll look like you're on an Easter Egg hunt, lol.

That's because your character was hungry. Put other food in front of the candy in your inventory if you don't want your character to eat it automatically. Better yet, put it in the bank. It should still be there when you return another day.

I highly recommend doing the sporali mushroom quest for those who do not have a pet of any kind. I have done this quest 2 times already, once for my lvl 75 Rogue just for the pet guy and once for my new baby shaman. The stats on the ring are not that great, but the clickie pretty decent as a buff to resists and adds to regen rates, which is still worth the 30 minutes it takes to complete.

For someone who has contributed only twice to this site your post makes me wonder what sort of replies we be getting from you once you have accumulated 400 contributions.

For those who did the bone mask quest last year, but were of a lower level then; If you put on an illusion, even the skellie one from the mask, delete the mask (make sure you don't have augs on it), and hail Zigan, the red gobby in PoK by the Cablis stone, you will get an upgraded mask with higher stats on it. My 73 shammy didn't get an upgrade, but she did it at around lvl 68. My 57 druid got an upgrade from the lvl 46 one she had last year.
