I'm about to make a shaman, and all races are pretty much the same (Minus ogre) now'a'days, now that they've removed racial experience penalties. So, I was wondering - who has the best and most available racial armor? Iksar, frog, ogre, or troll?

Very hard to say and it will vary server to server. Your best bet would be to log into general channel on the server you want to play on and ask them if there is a GM in X server ont this server. If there is more then 1 then you will probably find someone who knows someone who knows someone who is one in the general channel. Also you can check their bazaar, if its for sale in bazaar especially by more then one person you should be in good shape.

Definately will vary by server.
On Povar I can find 2 or 3 sets of GM troll armor for sale in bazaar. So it would be a question of finding the person and asking for a commision to start the lower stuff. Of course you can always start smithing yourself to take care of your needs.
Remember for smith skill ups its Str, Wis or Int, whichever the highest.
Oh and friends dont let friends smith. :)

I've always heard that froggie cultural is hard to come by. Other than that I think it kind of varies from server to server.

Well, first off - what racial armor do frog shammies use? Second, is there some way I can make my shammy be a GM alchemist, but still make racial armor?

Alchemy(Shaman), Tinkering(Gnomes) and Poisonmaking(Rogues) are the only tradeskills limited to class or race. So yes you can still make cultural armor. Specific combines like Leatherfoot Haversack is race specific, but tailoring skill itself is open to anyone anytime.

Forgot Dying(Rangers) and Getting punted(Halflings) Those are race/Class skills right?

Errr, I mean... Can I become a GRAND MASTER, as in 200+? 300+? Whatever it is, in both alchemy AND smithing or tailoring (Whichever frog shaman uses for racial armor)?

There are a few types of 'cultural' armor out there. Most people mean the DoN player-crafted but there are a few old-world recipes/armor lines for various races. All these old cultural armors pale in comparison to the DoN stuff.

Frogloks only have DoN cultural, check out the DoN armor quests for more details.

edit: the DoN armor for shammies is smithing. Expert's is 180-222 trivial based on slot. I made Expert wrists at 130 skill so you can be successfull at lower skill levels.

The augments for DoN armor can be made with smithing or tailoring and by any race.

YES

Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Baking, Brewing and Pottery anyone can GM 1 or all of them. To GM more than one of these you need to use AA's in the New Tanaan AA to allow another tradeskill to go past 200 though. 300 is GM. Class/race specific tradeskills are not affected and you can GM those without needing AA's to expand the cap on them. Skill caps though are affected by your toons actual level(your literal level like 29 shm for example).

I would venture to guess the longer the race has been in the game the easier it is to get. I know on Erollsi Marr I have NEVER seen any froglok caster DON armor other then the rare Expert robe. So yea Im a 66 necro wearing expert robe with a grandmaster aug. REally though stat for stat as a caster its not a life changing upgrade from expert to grandmaster in the armor, seems like the aug is the main thing to look at.

The availability of certain class/race cultural armors is also based on how popular that class/race combo is. For instance, I very rarely see Plate Vah Shir DoN cultural available because the most popular class for Vah Shir is the BL, while the plate wearers (bard and warrior) are much more rare.

So, going off of that, and going off the assumption that a lot of rogues and shamans are Barbarians, I'd also assume that there is quite a lot of Barb cultural chain available on the market. Of course, that's an assumption, and we all know about them...

If you want to be a shammy and get cultural armor go with a race that has shammy, zerker, rogue available, they all share the same chain gear. Not sure if ogres and trolls can be rogues, I don't see why not but never seen one. Barbarian will be a safe bet. Frogs have rogue and shammy for chain. I'd say the rarest on a nonrelated topic would be troll beastlord (leather is druid monk and beast usable and trolls can only be bst of that combo and they are very rare)
