By giving your pet a weapon will it really do more damage?
Typically it's the proc on the weapons that make it desireable. Pets proc like crazy so getting them a weapon that procs big DD's will significantly add to their DPS, even if they're not using the ratio from the weapon (the damage of the weapon has to be twice that of the pets base damage or something like that IIRC for them to use the weapon damage).
Give your pet a 2 hander until its able to duel wield. The pet doubles the attack value of a weapon ignoring the delay. So if you pickup say a 35 attack 2hander in bazaar for 25 50 pp the pet will hit for 70 dmg. Always funny to see your first pet hitting for nice dmg. The type of two hander doesnt matter, can be 2hb 2hp or 2hs.
When your pet can duel wield, give it the mage fire fists, look under martial in bazaar. Your pets start to do more damage with fists / paws. Giving the pets the upper mage toys like fire fists level 62 mage spell ice sword level 63 it will ignore the dmg but still use the proc. Make sure you look at required pet level neeeded to proc the special affect. The fire fists start very early. The ice sword starts at level 41 i think. The higher mage toys the pet has to be level 60.

I have noticed with the shaman companion, the swords dont proc even if my spell summon level is 55. Hands of ixiblat are what I use.
To find summoned in bazaar I just search the key word summoned. It leads me to what I need.

The required level for effect on the pet weapons refers to the actual level of the pet rather then the level of the spell. The level 55 shaman pet is a level 39 NPC, which is why it won't proc for them. The Swords of Walnan (sp) require level 40.

look for a burning shank if there are any buy them. usuall ybetween 20 and 50pp. proc 250 dmg often. if your pet can dual wield grab him 2. they are player lore. but pets can dual wield them.

Yea when I am in bazaar I always check for items under 9pp. There are quite a few items with recommended levels that are practically given away. For instance Bellows Crafted Helm often goes for under 9pp and it has some hitpoints on it.
