Has eqatlas given up the ghost? I haven't been able to get to it since I returned to EQ... And EQMaps is pay-to-play (which I did), but is far from being up to date.

Are there any other good sites with up-to-date maps?

I've noticed that with the advanced ingame world atlas and cartography system that the map sites have been lacking in relevance. Which is unfortunate, I agree, since checking maps out of game is a big asset.

exactly... I like to have a nice paper map in a 3 ring binder I can sit back and look at.

Plus, I've never been real fond of the in-game maps. Vector based maps are lacking the kind of detail I like to see in a map.

There are no sites maintaining "paper" maps for all zones. EQAtlas plainly stated that it was discontinued after PoP... and its no suprise if it has been taken down (though I used to use it and enjoyed it for the same reasons as the OP).

Mapfiend.com is the best source for maps for the in-game system. I think you can print maps from their on-site mapviewer (I may be wrong).

The in-game system has its benefits, however. The biggest is that you can add your own notes. My Cresent Reach map does not show the PoK book, so I stood on it and marked the spot and labelled it.

There may be downloadable utilities to run on YOUR computer that will then allow you to print out maps from your EQ folder. You COULD then colour the water in blue and anything else you wanted, but best of all they would include your personal notes, warnings, camps and trails.

Does anyone else know of "print a map" utilities?

oh and cost to print this PFD would be $40 in black and white but a huge $540 in color. i might be able to edit out a lot of filler to shink the size of it.
