There is a /hidecorpse command, with parameters, though I don't know anything more than that.

The /hidecorpse command will only hide corpses from YOUR viewpoint.

One the biggest uses is when you are farming mass amounts of mobs, you can use /hidecorpse looted to as you are looting corpses.

Normally a PC corpse will remain for 7 days if you do not loot it. If you loot the corpse, it will poof.

NPC corpses poof after a 7? mins for most zones, 25 for higher zones and PoP zones. NPC corpses WILL poof when they are fully looted, but will remain for their time if there are any items left on them, hence the /hidecorpse looted command :)

I hope I am making of the sense.

Actually frak your info is mostly correct.
They changed it a while back so that if you have a corpse with gear on it, and you loot it, all of it, the corpse will not poof right away. (Until rezz timer expires?)
If your corpse has nothing on it and you click on it to loot, it will poof.
At least this was my experience lately.
Hide corpse command will hide all corpses. It can be modified, as frak said above but I have never tried it.

"/hidecorpses looted" hides corpses after you loot them, and after you have entered /hidecorpse, must repeat with each login, will not still hide the next day.
"/hidecorpses none" brings them back in case you just left a corpse by mistake, that had somehting you wanted.
"/hidecorpses all" hides every corpse, players included, but not your own.

Might be a couple more choices, but not sure

Make a hot key: /hidecorpse allbutgroup

This will hide all corpses except those PC in your group. When bodies pile up hit the hot key. On the progression servers the PC corpses do not fade when you loot them right away (unlessed rezzed iirc). There is a /decaycorpse command to remove your own corpse once you loot it.

You cannot hide your own corpse from yourself by using the /hidecorpse command.

Seriously, nothing against the 'ahem' good folks of AS, but if you want a guild with people in it, people of various levels, skills etc, I would take a good hard look around before settling in with the small, elite-minded Aude Sapere - from my experience it's really nothing more than a couple of good friends that don't take kindly to others.

Despite the fact I left AS on anything but good terms, once I joined another guild I realized how little a guild of the AS type had to offer.

Have fun.

It sure seems you are taking this way too personally Elinda. I have no clue about AS but the reality of the thread is the guy is asking for advice on how to get rolling, not advice on who not to roll with.

...and maybe I'm not. The Op was asking about guilds among other things.

Feel free to chat with me if you see me.

Right now I do have to say the threat of being solo or having to deal with drama leaves me not wanting to log in. Leveled my Zerker in EQ2 from 24-28 in two days instead.

edit - I will log on later (once servers are up) Aude Sapere here I come!

Lol, No bows needed. I am biased a bit, (ok, jaded) but still wanted to get the info out. There are lots of guilds out there that have tons of people in them of all levels...it's worth looking around a bit.

I'm amazed at the numbers coming back into the game. Checking out different servers may be worthwhile too if one is not too set on their current server.

I too have been somewhat interested in EQ lately. I haven't played since just after planes of power was released. I was never very high level (30ish). I enjoyed the world and the people, but it became too much work to level up and eventually I got bored.

I wonder if it would be different for me now. I know they've made some big changes in the last ~4 years since I played. If I started new, is the population enough to really support someone starting from scratch? Will I likely have trouble finding a group?

I'm thinking maybe I should just leave the memories of EQ alone and stay out of the game but, at the same time, I'm curious if it would appeal to me. Hmmmm.

Hmm, maybe. There has been stuff added in expansions to support low level characters. Clearly the bulk of the population is higher level but a couple things to think on:

- You can now easily level up in into the forties, solo, in little time.
- The two Progression servers were opened. This has served to make LOTS of grouping opportunities in the old world and lower-level zones. These servers have been open awhile now, however, so the populations even there, I'm sure, have climbed up in level. They just recently opened, um, Luclin maybe.
- The latest expansion, The Serpents Spine, came with a new race and new zones...for all levels of play. You can probably still find lower-level groups in these new zones pretty readily.

It won't be easy finding groups at lower levels. You won't likely find a 'group' of people that are all working main toons from scratch to play with night after night without doing some advertising. There are enough people playing though that any given day you should be able to get a pick up group together once you're into your twenties.

Good luck.
