I never played EQlive past lvl 5.

However after attaining lvl 70 in EQII and downing Gorenaire, Harla Dar, and also the upcoming release of Echoes of Faydwer which brings back Kelethin, Butcherblock Mountains, etc I have been having a hankering to putter around EQlive.

I have EQ Platinum addition (might just pick up Titanium) sitting in a drawer from the time the Asylumites were going to start playing on Povar, which never panned out. Station Access is only 9 bucks more a month so why not?

1) Would like to start on a server with some active people who could deal with my questions and perhaps get me started with some much needed plat and twinkage. Aude Sapere how you doin?

2) Which expansion had the most recent graphic update? (up todate Screen shots of the game would be nice also)

I'm retired these days but, as far as starting fresh, you're in luck.

The latest and greatest expansion (both content and graphically) is The Serpent's Spine which includes content for levels 1 onward. New starting city and all that. From what they advertise, you can level the entire game (1-75) and never leave the expansion content.

I mention that this is a good thing because it means that you won't feel like you're playing a six year old game when you're wandering alone outside of Qeynos looking for rats to kill.

If I was still subscribed, I'd get you some starting stuff but I'm not so you're out of luck Smiley: grin

With the new exp their are a lot of lower lvl toons running around. Since the new exp I have also noticed a lot of completely new players running around.

IMHO EQII and WoW (both of which I have played with a little) are kiddy games in comparison to difficulty. I made it well into my 20's in a few days in both games as a completely new player. Before the MMs and the new regen system, saying you had a lvl 70 toon was something to be proud of, it was an actual accomplishment. With MMs and the new regen system, it's not nearly as hard as it used to be but it is still a decent challenge.

Pick up titanium and TSS and give it a shot. With those 2, the only expansions you should be missing are DoDH and PoR which are all higher lvl content anyway.

Alot of the posters here play on Povar, just FYI.

Aude's doing fine, except for the crazy krauts we have crawling around (/waves at Kaj). We're active in an alliance and even for a lowbie we have plenty of alts to help you out with some groupage.

Bodhi is starting to play EQ? Smiley: smile

You may find lots of low lvl on the two progression servers (The Combine and The Sleeper), but if you are looking for help, for people you know and maybe for a little twinkage, you should definitely play on Povar. Get the TSS expansion, most of the low levels are in the new zones at the moment (and it's quite good loot and exp there).

We (AS) are doing fine. There are some new Drakkins in the guild (as alts) so you could start from scratch if you like and have people to group with you. You can get to level 20 in a few days now. Playing one toon you could be to 50 in 2 weeks easy. Took me *only* 2 weeks to get to level 35 on a Drakkin and I have alts up the wazoo that I play. Lots of decent gear from the new expansion for low levels plus our budding tradeskillers need outlets for their wares.

There have been quite a few changes with the recent expansion that have really changed the game from before. Downtime for medding/regen is significantly lower and there is a revamped con system. Lots more quests, given in a similar fashion to EQII.

Our higher level toons are raiding PoP with Lucky Insane and others if that is your cup of tea. Also Jonwin is doing a marathon of LDoNs in North Ro to get RGC.

Drop by the AS website and say hello.

Your main is named Martin Luther King?

At any one time its taking me about 20 min to get up a ldon based on my 59 shaman.
Lots of lower level folks on Povar, but any server will do.
As for gear, start in the tutorial, come out around level 7 or so and start with the quests in pok or in the new tss areas.
Acrylia leather still cheap from tailor supply as folks make it then sell back. (Nice start for tribute points as well. Mask is a 1 plat for 7 tribute iirc.)

Aude Sapere is indeed running well. Plenty of alts in all level ranges, active raiding alliances, Epics, quests and progressions. Povar would be a great place to start with some folks you already know.

As mentioned, the new(est?) tutorial is great for running through level 10 and obtaining decent starting gear, spells, skills, etc.

Well I might just pop on tomorrow afternoon.

I do have to say that the progression servers are calling to me because I would like to be able to group.

I installed and patched the game, was looking at upgrading to station access subscription when I noticed that I have 1 free month of play. No clue how that happened since i used my original 30 days free.

Anyways I am going to be booting around either on Povar or one of the progession servers. See ya around.

Hi! Last I checked this wasn't the Asylum. Let's keep it that way. Let info threads be info threads.

I can confirm that there is LOTS of lowbie action in TSS (the new expansion). There are new low level guilds or "all level" guilds being formed (I play on Cazic). There are a truckload of quests and tasks, many of which are not yet documented online, so you can get that explorer feeling, and an /ooc about "where does that mob spawn" will usually get some ready help.

Faydark and Crushbone are pretty empty. Follow the xp bonus zones, however, to find other folk levelling up.

Info yes, I was lending info from my experience. Sorry Railus that you too, choose to hang with the good ol boys of Aude Sapere and not simply read these posts in a more factual manner.

Info:

I belonged to the guild that is now trying to sell itself to the OP. I share this info with the OP or anyone else that may be in the market for a guild. I spent well over a year contributing time and effort to this guild. The only thing I asked for in return was that the guild leader not hinder my game by choosing to remove me from groups so he could have my spot or to simply hi-jack the groups I'd put together for his own purposes. Rather than honor that request or even discuss it, he choose to deny it, lie about it, and discredit me.

Any attempt I've made since then to try and counter his charges have been met with modding and/or banning and further pretty lies from the AS GL. Mod this post agian, Railus, you'll simply prove my point further.

If any member of AS wants to make some sort of statement that practices within the guild have changed, that these leader/officer privledges are no longer allowed...great! Do so. But trying to intimidate me with rate-downs and nasty pm's obviously isnt going to shut me up and make me leave here.

Enjoy your Wednesday boys. Smiley: rolleyes

Might be useful to check who you're quoting before you start ranting about them, hm? My name's even in the quote on your post, I don't know why you're blaming Railus for anything.

As far as I can see, people are trying to help Bodhi, and you come in here trying to infect the forum with in-game drama. After I nuke your and their posts about it, and ask for no more drama, you're the only one to not comply. I don't care what happened in game, I care what happens on these forums.

My apologies to Railus and Danalog for getting you mixed up.

I, too, was merely trying to help Bhodi with factual information.

Interesting.

I do remember Elinda being in Aude Sapere. Was wondering what happened there.

As someone who has dealt with guild drama in the past (go over to the Asylum and ask about guild tabards) all I can say is that it really is best to move on, despite your feelings. You can let it drag you down into the muck and sour your experience both in game and over the forums or you can act the adult and just let it slide.

As for my progress in the game, I have a lvl 9 Drakkin Monk on Povar and I am enjoying playing him, though I play very casually (1 hour a day tops). I have chatted with a few Aude Sapere people and they seem cool. Jonwinnie (wondering if that is ElneClaires hubby Jonwin) was cool enough to help me around.

I still need to find myself a guild (and get out of the starting area). If you are on Povar and want to chat with me just look for Bhod.

Yes Jonwinnie is my shaman toon. Wanted to make something close to my tag here, as it is based on the Paladin I started originally on MT.
I was leveling my paladin trader mule winjon (long story short,I dont want to be in tutorial encumbered with trader satchels by mistake again), and saw lots of Bhod corpses in the tutorial. :)

I had a bad day. Kept getting jumped by patrols while fighting other mobs. Is there a way to remove the corpses?
