TSS features that might be nerfedFollow

As every expansion is followed by nerfs at some time, I'd like to know which features of TSS might be nerfed.

My first thought was the new regen system (mana and hp).

Your opinion? I haven't heard of any uber equipment yet, and as far as I know there are no new monster missions that could result in unbelievable exp...

Note: This thread is not meant for discussion about the new features...

The new regen system will not be nerfed.

That would be like nerfing the "Sitting on horseback is like medding but you do not get any sit aggro" feature.

The mob will be furious.

I think the new regen system will be tweaked...umm...nerfed. My gut feeling is that they will make the wait time 45 secs or one minute. They'll probably say something like standard groups were entering OOC during constant pulls.

I also think that the lower levels getting AA based on the highest level in the group will be "fixed". They'll fix it for lower level people, but somehow it will nerf the higher level people.

Lastly, there are reports that FD is broken. I think it is due to the changes in tick-pulling. In trying to fix it, they will just have every mob auto aggro on people as they zone in.

My FD is working fine, granted I have not tried it in the new zones yet if that is what you mean.

They say the removed the racial xp penalty but I wonder...my Iksar at level 62 has barely gotten 1 yellow of xp fighting through 3 LDoNs (LB mobs) even with 2xp running for 30 minutes each time. I know LDoN xp sucks, but does it suck this bad?

Last time I played it did.

We won our 1st hard LDoN last night. The group consisted of 62 mage 61 cleric 63 chanter and me 62 beast 54AA. The mobs were level 61. AA xp was very nice. The adventure really got the heart pounding. We finished the adventure with 7 minutes left. The hard adventure was very enjoyable.

Our mage was doing regular xp said he got 12 % on the adventure.

Be well

I don't think the regen will get nerfed...it's right in-line with other games.

I discovered a bonus to the little combat symbol the other night though. I had rooted a little mob that was bugging me while I was needed further in the zone...uh, needed quickly:) We finished off the couple of other mobs we had going and I sat down to med and then noticed my combat symbol was still on...this reminded me of the soon to arrive mob I had rooted earlier:)

I always thought the quested gear you get in Lavastorm by doing some errands for the gnomes (Lucky Miners Gorget and intricate toolbelt) would get nerfed as it was great gear for the level and the effort. But it didn't. A couple expansions later however and the stuff is pretty weak.

Maybe they'll nerf the Drakkins to just being Wurmkins.

Edited this to read the proper items listed above....oops.

The new regen system does need to be "tweaked." It's far too overpowering right now, and healers do not get on the hate list, so they can sometimes hit the tank with a heal, and then go right in to OOC regen 30 seconds later.

Some other stuff I've noticed about combat mode:

- If I heal someone not in my group I don't go into combat mode.

- If I gate and am bound in the same zone, I will remain in combat mode when I land at bindpoint...not sure how this relates to actual agro??

- If I evac or succor I go immediately out of combat mode (no 30 second wait...I think,,,,I'm not positive on this, it could be that when I noticed it after an evac I had not engaged...but that's not likely).

As far as the regen system being too overpowered, I'm already spoiled and want it faster:D...geesh having to wait 45 seconds to FM stinks!!

After testing this I decided that the 30 second wait is just burned up while evacing:D.

som eo fth espells will prolly get nerfed. especially magicians. their 70 pets are already tough sobs and can solo most raid mobs. now they get pets later then that so my guess is major nerfage when people start whining.

I don't know why this struck me as so funny, but it did.Smiley: grin

I sure haven't been on any raid where we could have soloed the mob with a mage pet.

Of course if you mean some raid mob from say, 5 expansions ago...but if that is what you mean, we have a ranger with max aa and qvic gear that solos those past expansion raid mobs all the time, so why nerf the mage pets lol.Smiley: smile

Actually, no it isn't supposed to be this way. Any time you have interaction with someone who is in combat, you are supposed to inherit their combat state. If you want it to be the way it currently is (bugged), then maybe you should go play barneys greatest adventure since you don't want any intended challenge.

The only nerf that I know that is coming is really minor - a quest given in Sunderock involves killing a bunch of gray legion in dire wind. The reward for the quest is going to be removed. The quest is supposed to be three steps and this particular quest is step one, and only step three is supposed to get rewards. So kill the gray legion and complete the quest now, if you are interested in those rewards early. A nice aug is among the three possible rewards and also a 37% haste 200 hp neck item. I do not know if they are jsut going to remove the reward and add it to the third step, or take the easy way and just remove reward period.

Yeah, if you heal someone, it'll give the 30 second timer, but if you let that count down and heal again, you'll jump to combat mode. Another thing I noticed, to a degree, it depends on the proximity of the mob. If I'm sitting near the tank, and heal him, I get on the hate list. If I'm sitting a good distance away (good distance meaning max spell range), then I get the 30 second timer.

As for gating, I noticed that too, but you don't stay in combat mode permanently, more than likely, in a few seconds, you will leave combat mode and go into the 30 second timer. This is no different than outrunning a mob that doesn't have SoW.

Now that that's been said, I'm going to point out the Blightfire equipment one more time. That is most likely going to be nerfed. No doubt in my mind about it. My cleric has Mana Regeneration: +4 at this point, 3 from items, and 1 from an aug... my breastplate alone has Regeneration: +1, Mana Regeneration: +3.

Just a little FYI about gating and evaccing.

Gating to a bind point in the same zone DOES NOT CLEAR AGGRO. Therefore, you cannot enter the resting phase because somewhere in the zone, a mob has aggro on you, even if it's at the other end. It will eventually 'forget' you, like mobs will do when monks FD, but this can often take quite some time.

Evac/succor kills all mob aggro when cast. That's why it looks like you're actually changing zones when you cast the spells, whereas gating in the same zone is instant.

Gating is obviously faster, and doesn't take nearly the mana, but the succor/evac line clears aggro and can take the whole group to safety, although there is a small percentage chance that someone gets left behind. That's SoEvil using yet another cheap, pointless method to keep things 'interesting'.

It also depends on spell casting subtlety (sp?) AA. If the check is successful, the mob never notices you (i.e. no aggro) and you go straight to OOC regen.
