Internet connect messed upFollow

#1 Sep 24 2006 at 6:11 PM Rating: Decent
Everytime I try to start up everquest I get an error message that im not connected to the internet, yet i have just succsessfully patched that game and can surf the internet as well.

I can get on WoW and any other game that requires the internet, just not Everquest 1.

Anyone know why this is?

It could be related to the game running on different TCP/UDP ports than the patcher, and possibly different ports than other games you've tried. So something could be preventing this game's connection but not others. Try http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=tech&message.id=131583.

Check your firewall too. My software firewall won't let me connect to the login server, even when I "allow" EQ to connect. It's strange because it'll allow the patcher to connect, but after I put in my password it tells me to check my internet connection and I don't get the usual firewall popup asking me if I want to allow the traffic. It just started doing this last week (maybe in conjunction with TSS now that I think of it). Try disableing your software firewall and connecting just to see if it works. Just remember to turn your firewall back on when you log off! ::grin::
