Spell Casting IssueFollow

I have an issue regarding spell casting that is new, related to the recent patch.

When I try to cast a spell at the moment it becomes available, from knowing when it refreshes or spamming the spell, it seems to go through something similar to when it fizzles. It appears to cast at first, then stops. It gives the feedback "Spell recovery time not yet met." It is virtually the same feedback if you try to cast when the gems are greyed out (You haven't recovered yet...) but categorized differently.

I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and it's rather annoying at times. It messes up my timing like a fizzle does, but happens much more often due how I have been casting spells since I started playing EQ.

Any insight on this? Is it a normal new function? Is it bug? Will I need to alter my timing from now on, more importantly.

Thanks

It's a bug. SOE will claim up and down it's on the users end and not theirs but they are wrong, as usual.

I completly understand how much of a royal pain in the *** it can be but with as many bugs as this expansion has I don't see it being fixed any time soon.

Thanks Raolan, I guess I'll have to alter my timing until they get to it, indefinately.

this expansion has very little in way of bugs compared with some past expansions. SoE are getting better at releasing less buggy expansions as they go.

of course there are ALWAYS going to be some bugs, it is the nature of MMORPG's.

I haven't personally noticed this and you'd think I would playing a bard. Maybe my leet twisting skills are just too perfect (yeah right). ::grin:: I did notice another casting bug, and I know at least one other bard has noticed it. When the expansion first came out I was fighting, tried to bellow in the middle of a song and it canceled the song cast. I was able to reproduce it several times in a row, then all of a sudden, about 2 hours later... nothing. I couldn't reproduce it again no matter how hard I tried, and there hadn't been any server resets (yet). Like I said, I know of at least one other bard that this has happened to, so it's not my immagination.

Oh good, I'm not the only one - eh... sort of.

Thanks for saying so though.

I got this message once too. I just dismissed it as a fluke. Luckily it was when I was just buffing and not a critical spell while in combat. It happened in Crescent Reach though.

This has happened to me in many old-world zones. It happens quite a bit because I am accustomed to timing it the moment it refreshes. Just for S & G, try spamming the gem/hotbutton and see if it happens. It does for me every time I spam it.

I always edit for spelling and grammar!

Come to think of it, I have been getting spells to fire BEFORE the gems light up sometimes, so what's up with that? Makeup? hehe...

Here is another observation. Shrouded, it wont let me use a spell that has refreshed, but I notice there is one spell not refreshed yet (even though I have not used it). Once this last spell refreshes I can cast again (any spell).
