I have a problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I am trying to get into EQ. The patcher loads fine. As I click play, this message comes up..."The dynamic link library d3dx9_30.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest;,;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\wbem".

My Operating System is Windows 2K

Is that telling me I need dx9 and if so where do I get it and where do I open the file to to make it work.

Or are there other fixes for this problem

I recently copied EQ over to 2 of my other computers and ran into the same thing. Oddly enough installing the DX9 package from Microsoft doesn't install this file. I ended up copying if from my other system. It goes in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder. I have no idea where the file came from in the first place. Supposedly it was frm installing the DX9 upgrade. In searching I found the following post from SOE:

Actually now that you mention it i had just installed all of the direct x updates when my file went missing. I am wondering if the updates dont delete the file for one reason or another.

EDIT: when i say updates i mean the little ones microsoft announces ie. the april 2006 update etc. i have a package of all of them.
