New spell line? Zephyr.Follow

#1 Sep 21 2006 at 11:04 PM Rating: Decent
Checking my missing spells for my Druid on EQ Players to see if there were any new transport speels I saw Ring of Blighfife Moors and Circle of BM as expected but also a new transport spell Zephyr: Blightfie Moors :- Opens a portal to sent your target to Blightfire Moors.

Well it seems to mean I don't have to go along for the trip anymore.

Havn't seen any more Zephyr's yet but that would seem a logical extension.

DonB

Of course I'm only 34 so this could all be old news for some of you.

From what I can tell its just like the wizard's Translocate spell.

Giving druids that ability just takes away from the wizard, again.

Or, the glass is half full and it gives to Druids.

EDIT: Come to think of it, it does not take away from Wizards at all. You are not losing your Translocate spell line. Wizards are not getting anything taken away.

Maybe there is some comfort in knowing it could have been much worse. Just think of how the necros must have felt when the Guild Lobby was introduced. I bet many necros can count on one hand now the number of times they have summoned a corpse after that expansion.

LOL i meant that they are now giving something to Druids that was exclusive to wizards. I say give wizards SOE too to be fair...

As it is my 59 wizard is seriously outnuked by less seasoned mages with similiar gear...lol

But I'm not complaining...I'm just sayin'

C'mon, be serious. A druid being able to port someone without having to go with has absolutly no effect on wizzies whatsoever.

When druids start porting groups to sky then wizzies can complaine.

get to level 70+ then complain about being out-nuked by similarly geared mages =p mobs i can solo in 3 mins as a druid can be soloed by similarly geared wizzies in 1 minute using less mana. wizzies have nothing to complain about, they do what they started their toon up for exeptionally well, and with the new downtime changes wizzies get a LOT of benefit from it (more so than any other class IMO)

i know its a little off topic from the OP but im just trying to point out - wizzies have nothing to complain about =p

I wouldn't say it really "takes away" anything from wizzies. The druids have always been able to port and there are VERY few places that the druids wouldn't be willing to port a group to due to danger. This just saves them mana and some time, mainly from having to zone twice, along the lines of the new "hovering" thing.

Bear in mind people, I was just sayin'. Regardless of whether they give druids a translocate spell or whether a mage can outnuke a wizzie, doesnt bother me. Figuring in the less downtime for mana, I may just hop back to finger wiggler and see trouble I can get into.

Well to be fair give druids a 5K nuke, you can go too far with this fair business. Are there other TLs for druids yet? Or just Blightfire? Hardly unfair.

Druids get tl to Steppes, Direwind and Blightfire and I must say being a druid that I feel its about time, dont get me wrong I dont mind taking time out to help ppl get somewhere or I wouldnt have been a druid, but to take the time to zone with them then be on my way, could be very inconvenient at times, I just hope they think about adding this line to our other port spells... Thanks Sony!! =)

I like the zephyrs, hope they backfill all the other rings, ahtough why have a ring anyway? can't you just zephyr yourself? haven't tried that yet. Was disappointed to find my target had a choice. Hell, I wanted to blast group members off to direwind or the stepps when they start asking questions like "are you ok healing?". Well durr, are you ok tanking?

Whichever way you look at it, we have more glass than we need.

Sorry, I always look at that way :D

I am a druid, and I only found TL to Steppes and Direwind.
Maybe I somehow missed the Blightfire TL somewhere?

PERSONAL OPINION FOLLOWS:
No matter what they do, which class they give something new to or take some power away from, there will always be unhappy people cause "She/he got something I didn't!" or "They took this away from my Char !!!"
I am happy that I can finally TL people to two zones without the hassle of having to leave my group or follow with them.
