Thinking about coming back for TSSFollow

I quit EQ a few months ago because I was fed up with progressive (People thought it was a race to unlock expansions rather than a chance to enjoy the good old days), and I've been thinking about coming back due to this new expansion, however... What exactly is new?
I know about the increased regen (However, I read this was bad for Necros... How? Why?), the new race, the new zones, and the new level cap... But what are the new spells? Just for the new levels like always, or evenly spread throughout the levels.
What about the new zones? Are they worth-while for 1-50?
And the new race? I noticed they went a different way, and let you pick a "gem" or something... Does this allow you to unlock all classes?

Sorry for the random barrage of questions, but SoE tends to make indepth information incredibly hard to find.

It seems most of the new spells are lvl 71+ as are most of the AA's. I could be wrong, I am sure a follow up post from another will confirm. I have tried to be more possive lately, but honestly I don't think this expansion would warrent getting back into the game. The new mobs are all pretty much underconned. Trash mobs in the lvl 30's are summoning, rampaging, hitting for more damage then they should, etc etc. There are however some decent quests you can do, however I found them to be a pain since the quest mobs are difficult to find (and usualyl rank in there witht he underconned stuff I spoke of earlier. Also rumors are floating around that Fake Death type spells do not work in the newer zones on a number of the new mobs. I have found this to be true, however not sure if its just a bug or a new skill mobs have.

The new race basically ranks in there with a funny looking human. Stat wise they are about the same as a Human and they have the same available classes that a human has. I understand they do have some Drakkin only quests that gives them weapons with a dragon like proc, but I don't know much about that.

The increased regen lets you regen health/mana/endurance at a really fast rate aftr you have been out of combat for 30 seconds (or 5 minutes while raiding). The thing this does to hurt a necro is it makes them no longer one of the few classes that can solo.

I don't know what you mean by the new zones being worthwhile? IMO because the new mobs are so freakin underconned and have poor loot Id rather level up in a hotzone myself. I ran around several of the new SS zones hunting down named etc and all I ever got for loot was no trade quest items. When I did do a quest the reward was no trade and had very strict required and recommended levels on it (to the point almost making it worthless to even own). If you are a true newbie (well as in starting for scratch in this case) I imagine you could get some nice rewards for your level completeing the newb quests in the new expansion. However for those of us withlvl 60+ mains twinking a toon its mostly junk no trade stuff.

My regen is 4% per tick at lvl 70, and so was my friend's, a lvl 71 Druid. My lvl 68 pet's hp regen, after we leave combat, is all but instantaneous. A couple of ticks, it seemed, from about 50%.

It's a boon to soloers and those who hitherto had wanted to solo more, but I saw little need to get a KEI now, other than to increase the mana cap. We were in Undershore and even though we only sat while the mobs popped, we found no problems with mana or hit points.

Paypal to me my going rate ($135/hr) and I will patiently document *exactly* what has changed. Start with a 10 hour retainer.. if I can do that in < 10 hours, I will refund the balance.

Do we have a deal?
