Zoned into the Moors (from Pok) and got attacked by some grey con at zone in. Warning to those of low lvl! This beast hit me for 230

Not sure if this a bug/error or if i is simply that I have misunderstood the /con colour changes

Sounds like one of those giant lizard things? They are underconned because you are supposed to do some quest that puts them tosleep. However I couldn't get the quest to work right because the spell (in the form of a clicky) didn't do anything to it.

I have also noticed alot of lower lvl mobs are summoning, flurrying, and things of that nature. And of course once you get a little bit away from town every freakin mob scowls at you and is underconned for its level. Honestly unless the exp is super great I can't see anybody wanting to level up in these zones when you can go to kunark HOTSPOTS and get more exp and easier to kill mobs.

Loot wise every mob I have seen (includeing what appears to be named) has a bunch of quest items/no trade. I have yet to see a wearable piece of gear drop yet, although granted I only got to play around in lvl 15 to maybe 35ish content before going LD. What is even more dissapointing is when you lose faction to kill what looks like a named bixie only to find that neat sword and shield is shows doesn't even drop on it. The only armor I came out with thus far was a quested cloak from a scout near some gnolls. Stat wise it ranks in with the newb quest cloak except this one has, as predicted, a required and recommended lvl. It also has a focus effect of minor damage 2, which does make it a decent little cloak for a true new player. OF course it was also no trade so bleh.

Only reason I ever got talked into buying this expansion was to level my alts up in, and it seems like other then the fact those zones are NEW there is really no advantage to trying to level up a alt. Now perhaps for a brand new player to the game they might pull some decent items out of quests from this expansion, but for a alt of a lvl 70 twink...ehhh. About the only items I see that a alt might use would be the lowish level augs which are given out as quest rewards.

Decided to try and make my way to the hive on Deaunx (55 Ranger).

Ran through Blightfire Moors, to the southeastern part where the zone-in is.

1) No map.
2) No camo.
3) Grey con named wasp (man, that thing is HUGE) aggro'd me.
4) It hit for ~130 a pop, and rampaged.
5) Finally made my way to the hive, with a level 70 ranger friend. We were planning on taking down the queen.

We finally get to the top of the Stone Hive (note that NOTHING in that zone, save the undead at the very bottom, can see through invis. VERY helpful.)
A level 70 ogre shadowknight runs right past us and aggros the queen. So we say, eh, ***** it, and go clear out the opposite room, where Neezzee is. We find out Neezzee is a quest npc, and get bored, head back to the queen room (maybe 8-10 minutes later? we had been running around the lower levels, too), to find the ogre is STILL fighting the queen, and she is STILL at 85% health.

Moral of the story: Believe it when it says "It would take an army to defeat this creature!"

Although, he did end up defeating her, and all of her minions (she summons a lot of random grubs, guardian bixies, and the like during the fight, all of which con "It would take an army to defeat this creature!", so I'm guessing that message is for raid-encounter mobs, and the mobs pertaining to the raid itself).

I'm done ranting for now. All in all, I love the concept of the drakkin getting a breath spell. My little Drakkin Cleric on Karana is quite happy now.

Yes my necro (lvl 62) died to the queen today. When I attacked her she summoned all of the grey con mobs in the room on me. She was lightblue (which I guess is like a lower end darkblue mob pre SS). I had a successful FD and of course my pet died. I laid there about 30 to 45 seconds letting my hp regen before I stand up and make a run for it. Then out of no where bam she, along witht he rest of the room agress me again. No spells was cast, and I didn't stand up or do anything. Somebody in general chat said they heard this is a new enemy skill with the expansion. So basically if this is true FD is worthless in the new expansion. That alone is a unforgiveable sin on SOE's part IMO, once again assumeing this is true. This is even more unacceptable for monks as the #1 skill that seperates monks from other melee DPS classes is feign death. I talked to a monk in my guild (lvl 71) and he has this same problem on a grey mob elsewhere in the new expansino. I do hope this is a temp bug and not "As Intended." I have allready heard some monks in general threaten to quit over this (although I doubt it will happen).

Honestly I am pretty upset that I spent $30 on this expansino. The new race is just humans with a different graphic IMO. The zones themselves are full of trash mobs that summon, rampage, flurry, and do all sorts of other funky attacks. I can understnad making the named abit more difficult, but hells far give them some crappy loot? So far I have yet to find ANY named mob in this expansion that drops anythign other then 3 no trade quest items. Many of the mobs hit for more damage then they should at there level and of course have alot of hp. I won't even go into the agression of mobs even in the newb zones. SOE needs to get the idea that every expansion needs harder mobs for their level out of there head! I personally wouldn't even want to think of leveling a toon up through the new expansion. LEts see I can go to overthere at lvl 30 and get extra exp since its a hotzone and fight mobs that do nothing special, or I can go to SS and kill mobs that flurry, rampage, summon, and give crappy no trade quest items for loot...... Also as I predicted every single piece of armor from the new expansion has required and recommended levels on them. So far the only armor I found was what people linked, and some cape I got from killing some gnolls. I mean required lvl 8... come on is it going to kill the game to have a lvl 2 toon wearing a item with a few stats and 15hp/mana?

Perhaps this expansion will be more enjoyable once camp spots are found etc, but so far it has been nothing but a headache. So far they act like they want this expansion to turn eq1 into eq2... The whole reason I went back to eq1 was to get away from the strict requirements of eq2, and now it seems they ar putting this crap in eq1. How many years did eq1 go with no recommended or required levels on ANYTHING? If you coudl loot it you coudl wear it. Now I can understand some of the higher end items that are in the game needing at least a recommended level, but how many items do you see that are 100% junk because of some insanely high REQUIRED lvl?

Anyways that ends my rant. As usualy I am not satified with the latest expansion. I would actually rank it higher then POR, however I have had alot of enjoyment and loot/exp out of POR just over the monster missions. I can't even give SS the benefit of that though. I guess the biggest seller over this expansino was the lvl increase which wasn't even needed. The fact that hardcore players have allready reached lvl 75 in about 24 hours tells me that a level increase wasn't needed. The reason for lvl increases is supposedly to help keep higher end players busy... Well grats SOE you kept them busy for 1 day.

reccomended and required level items have been around for years now - like sometime just after pop or so (cant remeber off the top of my head) they have been around long before eq2 came out.

REcommended levels came out wiht Luclin, however they was just about always RECOMMENDED levels. ITs not so bad wearing a piece of armor with a recommended lvl of 60. By the time your lvl 20 more often then enough it has decent enough stats to make it wearable. I am not saying nothing should have req or required lvls, but I just think they are getting WAY to strict on them is all. And my comment about eq2 was simply every single piece of armor in that game has required lvls on it.
