Anyone Else?Follow

keep getting Error-A timeout occurred--tried going to server select rather than quick connect to last server, tried full file scan, no dice.

wouldn't normally bother the community asking this, but tried posting in the tech section on SOE boards but everytime i sign in, it doesn't really sign me in.

are teh servers just so flooded, and i guess the boards too, only a lucky few 1,000s are making it in game?

I managed to get on at almost exactly 7pm EST and was on for over two hours, but then logged out and can't login now. It's probably re-patching/maintenance or overload. Standard for a new expansion/patch day.

I went LD in PoK and got the "A timeoout has occured" also. Emarr server.

Well, back to spamming the login.

BTW - the scepter (or whatever) to transport you to Crescent is NO TRADE, only one per account, so you must decide which character it would best go on. You can get it by typing /claim 10...

Same here on the time out error at 9:10 Central Time.

I smell a double XP weekend coming up. There'll be drakkins at level 50 by the end of it. LOL! (Yes, that is somewhat of a joke).

Well you all help to make me feel not so alone anymore tho I hate that all of us can't get in even tho we did earlier...<sigh> Glad that I at least made my Drakkin before I logged out before. Here's to a quick fix so we can all get in again and have some more fun...<thumbs up>...8^)

btw...is there a site to go to that shows what servers are up (or down) for EQ?

I get the same Timeout message on two differnet computers.

As was said in /gu last night "See you all on Wednesday" /gu "Wednesday??" /gu "yeah - 14 hours for patch, 10 minutes up, 6 hours re-patch, after bedtime"

Waited 3hours past scheduled time to let them work this **** out. Still can't get on. Pathetic that the release of a new expansion is to be dreaded and awaited with grim apprehension.

I bet all players in the game right now get rolled back to before the patch was released.

Speculation:
Some problem has occurred that is so serious that the devs can't have anyone logging in so they made the login mechanism unavailable (probably the mega-xp bug). But this is a problem they can't reproduce on their testing servers so they left the production servers "up" so they can work on the problem there. Some folks were lucky enough to make it in while the login mechanism was working, but their server could be restarted at any moment then they will be in the same boat as all of us. Once a solution is found a patch will be applied to all production servers, the login mechanism will be made available again, and all toons will be rolled back to patch time.

I certainly hope so. Spent 20 min buffing pet and guildmate, made it to skyfire and went LD.
