#1 Sep 13 2006 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
So im boxing 4 EQ accounts.
I'm having trouble on which classes to pick, I already have a 70 Druid.
What other classes should i pick?
(I also have a 63 Necromancer but i dont see how he could fit in a group)
Im considering
Warrior
Beastlord
Cleric
DRUID-lvl 70

Thanks

Might consider dropping the Beastlord and having a shaman for the better slows and better buffs. Also might drop the warrior and make a Palaidn instead since a Paladin has a better chance at pulling with pacify.

Here are my four accounts...

Warrior
Cleric or Bard or Rogue
Druid or Warrior or Ranger
Shaman or Necro

My current set up is Warrior, Cleric, Druid and Shaman. Having multiple melee in the group is tough in terms of staying in melee range. The druid just stacks dots, and so does the shaman once the mob is slowed. My biggest issue are rampaging mobs.

At the moment, I am leveling the ranger to replace the druid (not really an option for you) to maintain snare but to pick up bow DPS with autofire.

I am guessing that the druid is your main and you want to retain him in the group.

Here is a thought:
Druid - main healer, snare
Paladin - main tank, puller
Beastlord - off tank, DPS, slow
Necro - DPS

You can always get Conviction for your characters in PoK that will last for 3+ hours. With that group you can incorporate the necro and not have to worrying about leveling/equipping that other character. You necro or paladin can get you the rezzes that you need. Sure it is a few percentage points lower, but nothing you won't make up in your hunting.

I decided on

OGRE Shaman - for slowing, buffs, secondary heals.
HUMAN Ranger - DPS, i read that rangers are the best dps behind Zerker, monk rogue.
TROLL SHADOWKNIGHT - can keep agro better than Warrior and does more damage over long battles + feign death

my characters are only about level 10 is this a good setup ?

At the risk of starting yet another agro war... The above statement is not true. At low levels an SK is a decent tank but at higher levels a warrior will out-tank a knight class every time.

To OP, I 3 box with druid cleric sk wife 2 boxes beast and ranger. just picked up the cleric a few weeks ago and it makes a huge difference. Once the cleric got CH she could handle heals for the most part on the content we were leveling her in, now I'm grinding 69.1s for xp. With a shadowknight I can take down about any 1 group content I want to try without thinking geez if I was a warrior I'd be taking 5-10% less damage (or 30-40% since I keep losing agro and other people are taking the beating instead of me) And in the low to mid 60s go to Ruined City of Dranik to farm upgrades/ runes from the nameds there, back when we were only a 3 box (sk druid and beast) we could handle the zone and made enough plat to get hefty upgrades.
for the record since I didn't include a magelo--

Depends entirely on what sort of mobs you are tanking.

When tanking older mobs with lower attack and easy aggro and lower maximum damage, a Knight can tank as well as a Warrior. Our Knights regularly tank trash in Tacvi.

But when tanking the newer high attack mobs the Knights just don't have the right disciplines to survive or keep the group alive.

Warrior mitigation and avoidance disciplines plus their taunts make them the superior tank when it really counts, the knights cannot survive the rapid large hits, nor can they bring out of control mobs under control quickly enough to keep the healers alive.

Don't know why you think a warrior would keep losing aggro compared to a SK either. A warrior with the proper setup will never loose aggro these days.

What about druid, necro, necro, necro? Not a whole lot of variety and I don't know how hard that would be to 4-box but necros can be pretty powerful in bunches.

A Warrior is a beefier tank and their disciplines help a lot with damage mitigation, however, any Knight can pick up aggro from a mob faster then a Warrior and it's a lot easier to get a mob off someone else with a Knight then a Warrior.

Emberxx, you're selection of Druid, Shaman, Ranger, SK is good. Though since you've said you also have a 63 Necro I'd sub him in for the Ranger. Use the SK as a meatshield, DoT the crap out of the mob with the other 3, and should things start to go to the crapper, you have the options of FDing the Necro while the Druid attempts to port out. I think you'd find that your Necro would fit in much better then a Ranger and it's a lot easier to bot.

i've been 4 boxing 2 yrs

love the druid, cleric, warror, beastlord all lvl 46-49 now

currently using mage, paladin, druid, necro lvl 30's

pet classes means less alt tabing

using a cleric or pally gives use rez, druid for port and dmg shield snare, or ranger and a wiz for porting

hmm pally ranger wiz dps up there add a beastlord for pet dps and he has the hp, mana regen spell

a yr ago i made 3 beastlords was fun, kept my cleric near then to heal and rez if needed but don't remember rezing them, i think they did good.

i think i'll give that a shot again in a month or two have to get a new job first. only 2 accounts aloud. i have 8 i want to activate the 4 new ones for new expansion, make 4 beast. oo or make 4 necros
