Hi Everyone,

Today when I was kiting murkgliders in NC I noticed that my dark assassin pet misses the mobs most of the time. This is now with pet focus, minion of shadows, and also with glyph of darkness. The same is happening with my lev 67 war pet. Is it just me, or does anyone else have the same experience? Seems like SOE killed the necro class this time.

I just got my lvl 61 pet yesterday so I havne't really had tiem to compare them to be honest.

I wouldn't put it past them, although I don't see why the necro pet would need nerfed. It is allready a step behind the mage pets, or so I have been told?

My pet only started doing this this week. I mean constant misses. Maybe every 6 or 7 hits it might scratch a mob. A few days before I noticed the same thing happening in a creator instance. I went to kite in the zone in at the creator and brought my two alts along. 1st time I did it and my pet had constant misses on these mobs as well. I basically had to cast the mobs to dead. Something is not right.

I haven't noticed anything like that lately, with the 63 and 65 necro pets. all I know is that you won't see pet hits reported if you're too far away, bu that doesn't mean it's not hitting at all.

Pet's and pc's will only hit 40%-50% of the time.....it's been this way for as long as I can remember. Granted there are exceptions (like farming very low greens or very red mobs) but all in all don't expect to see something like a 90% hit rate. This doesn't just go for necro pets, pretty much all pets are like this.

Also, if you're relying on your pet as your primary source of damage (as a necro) then you're doing something wrong.

When I said hitting only 6 - 7 hits, I meant rounds of attack. I kept fairly close to my pet. I always watch how it hits. It is ONLY during this week that it started to miss most of the time. And, no, obviously I don't rely on it for most of my damage. I just want to point out that something changed this week. Before this it managed to hit a lot and backstabs about every 2nd round. Now it just misses all the time (it does almost NO damage now, and that on mobs 5 levels below it). Maybe my toon is bugged.

Being a 70 necro I'm sure you're aware of this, but maybe it just slipped your mind. The minion of shadows is only a level 43 rogue, so if you're putting it up against level ~60+ mobs, it's gonna suck. Now, if you're talking about Dark Assassin (which is a level 70 rogue)... that would be a whole 'nother story. If you MEANT to cast Dark Assassin but casted Minion of Shadows by accident, well, that could be your problem.

You have misunderstood him.

The minion he is talking about is his pet focus. Probably off something like

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=33027

Its not entirely your bad though as he has probably named it wrong as my guess and means minion of darkness focus not shadows.

As far as pets being nerfed I have noticed no difference but then I dont really pay attention to him much unless his dumbass starts gettin hit on. I personally am hardly ever close enough to him to watch his hits as when I am kiting I run a bit away and then sit to med a lil til the mob comes close enough that I need to move and do it again.

Pets miss alot.

A while back SOE changed the combat spam filters to show you pet misses (previously defaulted to off).

It's scary how much they miss.. but they have always missed this much.. you just never saw the spam before.

Turn it off again.. for your peace of mind.

Really.

Why have pet misses on? That's just useless spam. Pet hits, sure, to see backstab and crit damage. When soloing, pets are really just an efficient way to finish that last 5% off mobs without having to waste a whole DoT duration.
