Ferocity vs. CleaveFollow

#1 Aug 28 2006 at 9:43 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all..

I have come to the wellspring of all EQ knowledge once again....

What is the difference between an aug with Ferocity and one with Cleave on it? I have tried to look around for a definition but I'm having a hard time finding what I need.

Of the high end OOW tradeskillable augs, which do you have and which is the most valuable to you? If so, what is your class? Is the Howlite of Pure Cleavage (might not be the exact name, but it sounds kinda interesting) the best for you or would a Citrine of Pure Ferocity be better?

Im just starting to make the augs for my toons and for others and I want to get the biggest bang for the plat.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Ferocity = increased chance to double attack
Cleave = increased chance to crit

I have both at 5 on my rogue and I'd say that fero gets the nod in terms of dps increase. Get both as you can.

I was going to ask the same question. That's so funny! Thanks.

That would be Radiant Howlite of Pure Sundering... only female barbarians get Pure Cleavage. ;)

Fero generally adds more DPS than Cleave for any class with Double Attack. However, there's no reason you can't have both. My rogue (who makes her own augs) has Fero, Cleave, and Dodge.

As for what Augs are best, look at not only the stat they raise but also what slot they're for. Alot of them, especially the primo ones like Howlite, Spheralite, etc. are restricted to only one equipment slot. Very few of the augs can be put in any visible armor slot.

Keep in mind for player made augs you can _drastically_ lower the price if you provide the expensive ingredient yourself. These are Slugworms (for the various "flow type augs, mossflow, fireflow, etc.), the augs themselves for things like Howlite, Spheralite, Kyanite, etc, and Discordiant Scoriae/Black Gold Inlay (needed to make any of the "Pure" augs). The remaining ingredients are fairly cheap if you provide that stuff.
