I'm guessing people still play this game?

Would it be enough for a new player to join in?

I tried it a long time ago and my pc just couldn't handle it then. since then I have gotten with the times, and have played FFXI, and now currenty WoW and GW. I also played EQOA. I was interested in giving this another shot later on if a huge amount of people still play it, or is EQ2 better?

yeah, people still play, if you wanted to start again, i suggest starting on one of the 2 new "progression servers" basically these servers start out with onyl eq classic then as peple unlock the content new expansions are opened.

the plus side to this is there are a lot of low level characters with low level gear so theres plenty of people to group with.

the down side is theres a lot of competition for camps right now because of less content, and high numbers of people playing on the servers.

the servers are called the combine, and the sleeper.

Quite a few people still play eq. Most of the people that play other games like WoW and SWG still have active accounts as well. With the new expansion coming out in a month it makes almost a perfect time to begin if there is one for a 8 year old game. You got a few choices though. Do you want to play a regular server where everything is opened up and ready for you to begin. Or start on either 2 of the new servers the combine or sleeper where they started a new server back from scratch and only have the beginning expansions enabled and are able to become part of the forces that unlock the newer expansion.
