If I shroud down to a level 5 something and die will my level 70 mage lose experiance when I return?

You do lose exp, however you lose the amount of exp a lvl 5 would lose. So at lvl 70 you could probably die several tiems at lvl 5 before you noticed the exp loss.

I was under the impression that if you used lvl 5 you would return to bind point with items and not lose any xp. I could be wrong though.

When you die in shroud form you lose exp as noted in the first reply.
