I'm recently back from another lay off and someone tells me there is a focus effect that increases the heal per tick (I don't mean duration) on HoT's. Is this someting new or do I have bad info? My cleric would really like this.

It's in your AAs, look in there. I want to say it's either in the Gates or the Omens tab.

Edit: Well, Healing Boon (in omens) gives you a chance to crit with HoTs. I'm not sure about focus effects though.

Do you mean something like Burning Affliction that increases each tick a certain percent? It's been awhile since I've done a lot of work upgrading the cleric so I can't really say.

Hive silk pearl necklace is one!

Droppable on FV, but I doubt it is on regular servers.

That affects duration and not heal per tick.

This is probably what he was talking about. Said his HoT did double but he made it sound like it was permanent double and not occasional. He was given a high end Shaman and he wasn't sure if it was an item or AA that did it.

Aye, maxed out that should crit heal a decent amount of the time. Enough to make the newbs fishy ;)

Extended Enhancement AAs and items will extend HoT duration. If these are maxxed you can add an extra 65-70%.

Edit: Sorry not reading well, he didn't want to know about duration...

But by extending the duration you do extend the amount healed.

There are two different ways to increae duration heals (and dots). The crit line gives a percentage to double that tick, per tick. The other gives a small percentage increase to the base effect for every tick. They can stack, so you can crit (double) the increased amount.

I don't know of any AA that will increase the base amount of a duration heal; I checked my cleric's AA page ingame and looked around on EQClerics. Apparently there is only one focus that will do this. Every other one is Instant only.
