There are many things of which I could rant about. But I am going to choose one, lucky for you...lol

I was on my BST and got invited to group in Harbringer's. As I got there, someone left so group leader went looking for a replacement. The one warrior went ld so that left the cleric, a necro, and 2 bst ( myself included ). Necro pulled and we killed what he pulled...he realizing too late the tank went ld.

The replacement came, another warrior. Great we thought...we set to handle some nameds. The absolute first thing the new warrior said to the other warrior " xxx whats your hp/ac?" Common, I guess so it can be decided who is MT. Once it was answered it was decided the new warr was better choice. Very next question, " xxx link your weapons"

He hesitated a second then did link his weapons. As soon as he did, the new warr laughed her *** off. She emoted it and even sent me a tell expressing how she thought it was humorous.

The rant... I hate it when people ask to see another's gear and then laugh when they see that its NOT up to par with theirs. I guess everyone assumes everyone has access to a zilion plat or has a higher toon or friends with high level toons that can farm for the weapons or gear. It cheesed me out!

Now I was asked the other night when I was in RCod by another bst I was with ( 70 bst with epic 2.0) to link my weps and such. I was hoping she was gonna give me something, lol. But I did. Now, I know my gear is really kinda crappy for my level and I am waiting til 70 to upgrade. I have had this gear for many levels and solo with it, so it gets the job done. Anyway, I told her outright that my gear was gimp and i needed upgrades. She looked at it and said " Yes you do, but if it works for you now..dont worry about it".

Even more, lol I hate it when your in group and waiting on clkeric mana someone starts the "Show and Tell" and starts linking his gear. Then someone else does it and so on. I hate it so much I do it too, but I link my uberest item... https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=12802

well not really, but usually they get the point.

No shame should be in whatever gear you have. Many times people ask for links to see what it is they think is so cool you are carrying or just to know simply because they have never seen it before. I ask, with no intent what so ever to have an opinion on whether it is good or not, but because I am interested nothing more. I cannot judge whether something is good or not for someone else simply because no two people play the same.

For example all I heard forever was Blade of Carnage, Blade of Carnage. Well my hubby had one stashed on an old toon and I got it and played with it. Sorry extremely overrated and frankly I hated it, so I gave it to a guildie who is thrilled to have it and it no longer collects dust. Point is just because someone thinks a certain weapon is uber doesn't mean it will be for you.

Let's not forget the whole "my tool is bigger than your tool" moron in this. As the saying goes "it isn't the tool that matters, but the operator". Smiley: lol No matter what gear anyone has, can they play the game well in the end is what counts.

And yes hp/ac is often compared to determine the best tank. Funny though a tank with 100 aas and higher hp/ac does not necessarily make the better tank over one with 600 aas and less hp/ac, there are too many factors that can make a difference. But in a group where there are two potential tanks this is the norm to decide who is MT. A truly good tank understands that being SA is just as vital to the group and the win, and after all that is the point.

If someone is pissy over being designated SA then they need to go because more often than not they then work to steal aggro which in turn taxes the healers and hurts the whole group. A truly talented tank knows how to play SA as well as MA.

While we are ranting a wee bit, one I would like to point out happened to us last night.

Please don't ask if we are doing hard or easy on a spell mission get all the way there and then say..."oops sorry guys I don't have the expansion". Certainly you realize that we all caught that you wanted the hard mission...but suddenly don't have the expansion. Amazing what people will say. Smiley: laugh
