I cant get the king to pop and start the hide and seek event. At 7:00 pm game time I an in front of Droga in Frontier mountains, Language is set to Goblin (my skill is 100) I click on the "poor goblin disguise" and when it is done loading I say in Goblin "Start the contest". I have the waterproof collection bag in inventory. I have followed all the instructions in the walk thru posted here and on druid grove but nothing happens. the King does not pop and say anything about starting the game, the seekers do no pop nor does the hider. In the walk thru it says if you do it right these things will happen but they dont. Anhyone know why I can get it to work? I petitiond and they told me there is no known problem with it but i am sure having a problem. I am getting sick of the endless forageing for the stupid emerald leaves! Any idea what i am doing wrong?

I had the same problem on my druid. I just kept spamming the Goblins in front of Droga til at least 8 pm game time and even got so frustrated I ooced the phrase and soon enough I saw the emotes begin the event. Maybe the ooc did it I dunno but yes I think this event might be a bit buggy. Dont forget you gotta talk to the high elf npc first( sorry forgot his name).
I had the same problem and was told to /con the goblins outside and then say it and I walked a little into the tunnel when I did and the event started it does take a few minutes to do so.
I also found it best to have a few tanks with me, track a goblin and then one of the tanks to kill it while the others followed for the next one and a few dealt with adds.
Good luck so far this is the most hideous part of the epic

The event can take several minutes to begin. I waited outside Droga and just kept saying it. The King takes a little bit to get the Contest Going. My problem is everything I read about this part of the quest says that it was fixed so that only 1 Goblin Hider would spawn among the seekers. NOT TRUE!
Be prepared to run your feet off! I would suggest a second tracker to go with you. This will help you cover more area. It's back to the drawing board for me as I was only able to track and kill 2 hiders in the time allowed. Good Luck!

did you make sure that you changed your language to goblin before asking to "Start the contest"

I think there is a problem with this event although they claim otherwise. I got same response to a petition. I wandered all the way to Droga zone-in and all around the entrance spamming "Start the Contest" and yes Goblin was set to language for everything.
Now in my circumstance I was able to get it started the first time but I had problems when I was killing the Hider and he poofed right as he should have died. I thought that I had done something wrong and gave up.
So now I am trying a second time and have redone the disguise and talked to the NPC each time. And still no luck. Anyone else out there have to do it over...is there a secret?

The problems with the goblin event stem from there being so many things that need to be happening (or not happening) as you try to spawn the event.
Make sure you are not invis'd
Make sure all chat windows that are open are set to "Goblin" as language (close all tell windows)
Make sure you have a goblin at the entrance TARGETED before your you "say" your spawn msg
Make sure you are close enough to the goblins at entrance (crimeny if ya have to get right in there among them and "say" yer thing and then run away - root 'em if you have to)
Once you have "said" Start the contest - it can take several minutes before the event starts, but it will - being close to the gobbies at the entrance is important - and not dropping invis is a mistake many have made.

SIGH...I am redoing this event again. Yes to all things in the previous post by Jillian. My gripe is multiple HIDERS that all shadow step. This time I am taking Multiple trackers with me. If I fail this time I give up. It just is not worth this much trouble to begin the epic.

i just did this quest..and i spammed start the contest for 5 min straight till i saw the king and his escorts come out of drogga...then the hiden takes a while to spawn..so just keep invis on and keep hitting track till you see him...i got the right one first try...lucky me...
