but beastlords cant spellcast...i was thinking shadowknight but i hear they are difficult because they dont have much offense and their spells suck so what about ranger?
BL are able to cast spells.
the SK is great and has more offense then defense. there is a running joke about rangers being the sacrifice for the group.
BL, SK, Pally, Ranger are all fun to play to a sort. im not a fan of the pally as a person, but that is just me. rangers until they get true shot are a PITA to solo and level up.
their roll in groups at the low and mid level is almost a waist. limited DPS (better to use a rogue, or nuker), they can not really tank in the mid levels (30 - 50) as their mitigation and chain is not enough to keep them alive long enough without waisting loads of mana from the cleric.
anyways, that is not to really start a flame war, sorry for upsetting the rangers, but at higher levels a ranger with a good bow and trueshot among their other AA abilities rangers are awsome at DPS, but still die much faster then most other melee type classes mentioned here in this thread.
i for one did not like the BL, but then again that is me.
Now for the SK, that is a powerful class for offense has great solo ability, casts plenty of great spells, has an ok pet, and makes one of the best pullers in the game. Pallies for that matter are also great pullers, but if they ***** up the group/raid could have an issue. if a SK screws up the pull, only the SK is at risk for the most part.
all knights have very high mitigation and extreemly good AC/HP and some of the best snap agro in the game.
so any and all of them would be a fun class to play and learn. as for what class is best to learn the game, well SoE gives you something like 8 toons per server.
pick a class, pick a race, and play it to at least the 20s and see what it is like. some classes dont get competant until the mid 20s to low 30s. Chanters are like that. at the mid 20s chanters really start to learn their prime job of CC (crowd control)
so enjoy the game, play and have fun, ask questions about the class you are learning to play.
