How does specialization work?Follow

Does anyone know exactly how specialization works? I've heard that if you have 200 specialization in something then 20% of the time you cast a spell in that specialization it will cost half the normal mana. If you have 100 specialization 10% of the time it would be half the mana cost. 50=5% of the time, etc.

Also, by getting all the specialization mastery aa's would that increase the chance of halving the mana cost to 20%+30%=50% meaning half of the time? Or would it be like 20%*30%=26%, a quarter of the time?

Has anyone tested this or know how it works? Thanks.

hmm I never looked that close at my specilization; but what I do know is that all my heals consistantly seem to cost less but not half as much less (speclize in healing with AA to back it up) so I belive that it does not save you mana only 10% or 20% of the time but rather consistantly lowers the cost by a smaller amount. I don't know for sure though I'll test it on my cleric tonight if I remember.

as to the AA question it raises your specilization by a percent of it's current specilization cost; so basically the second of the two you asked about. Still great mana preservation if you realy almost entirly on one spell type like cleric go for it

also remember specilization also lowers the chance of fizzles. fizzles=mana lost so that is good; plus when I fizzle a CHeal the tank may not be able to afford the time for me to recast it so I try not to do it too often =P
