I would suggest all of you read the thread if your thinking of renewing your account. I know it's long but worth the time as an inside look how SOE handles CS problems.

You may just want a read if your account is due for renewal soon also.
Now I am not telling anyone not to renew I'm just asking you take take a good long look at this and make your own decision.

In my experiance it's always the haters who shout the loudest, drowning out the people who are satisfied.

For every person who is shouting thier dissatisfation with SoE's customer service, there are 10 people with no problems in game playing.

I treat bad CS in EQ like a bad umpire in a baseball game. You will always get bad umpires from time to time, but it is not going to make me stop playing or watching the game.

I have been less than impressed by some of my dealings with CS, but there were plenty of times the CS came through as it should.

Whether anyone else appreciates HeyEverybody bringing this up, I do. Simply because somewhere I have missed all this hullabaloo and now realize I have been fooked over on one account, another is down and four more will be pending.

Yes it is a horribly long read, but it is worth the read if anyone took the anniversary deal last year and doesn't know what is going on and why. Get the vasoline out, you are going to need it.

In my past I have very seldom every had a pleasent exp with customer service, and in the past year or so GM's seem to get dumber and dumber like they don't even know anything about the game.

Just the other night I was doing the Slipgears gem quest and I fell for 20k damage (it was a bug I hadn't fell far and I was a rogue to boot). Anyways I petitioned and a GM shows up later in guild lobby. Well when he summoned my corpse it brought some from shadowrest where I had 2 froglok corpses. I told him it was the goblin corpse twice and he sat there chain casting customer service rez on my froglok corpses. I finnally dragged the goblin corpses away and he got my goblin corpse.

Had GM's when I played eq2 give me answers all the time that had absolutely nothing to do with my problem.

I get your argument and you make a good point Tarv, but the fact of the matter is that if SOE is going to sell a product/service, it (as well as the billing, etc.) should work for all customers. There's no excuse for about 10% of the players to be dissatisfied with Customer Service. The entire point of that outfit is to solve players' realistic problems. For a game on the decline, it makes no sense to alienate such a large portion of your customer base by neglecting an area so easy to maintain. Also, no EQ player should be satisfied with that many EQ players so upset with Customer Service. It hurts our game.

Finally, need I remind you of the roll-back foul up? I would say most of the player population was pretty upset with that, SOE's response, and it may have led to a further decline of players.

The people directly respocible for the roll back foul up where players, SoE's hand was forced by people trying exploit the system.

Could it have been handled better? Yes of course it could, but should the player base have tried to exploit such a blatent mistake? no of course not.

no they weren't. the players who bought stuff off merchants have no right to complain about -their- rollback, but saying it's their fault that sony decided to roll back 50% of the server population is silly.

If someone comes up to me and calls my mother a *****, he wouldn't really deserve it if I shot his ninth cousin in the face.

SoE could have left anyone more than two degrees away from the merchants with less than 20 sploited ts items perfectly well alone. the extra material would have been used up in a day or two, making minimal impact on the world.

instead they rolled everyone back, causing a CS nightmare and hundreds of people to lose substantial loot.
