Halfway point to 70Follow

What is the halfway point to level 70. And no, I don't mean level 35 because everyone knows 1-35 is a hell of a lot easier than 36-70.

So what, experience wise, is "halfway" to level 70?

i'd say personally somewhere around 45 maybe 46... cause 59-60 sucks and 66-67 really blows.

But getting to 46 isn't nearly as difficult as getting from 46-70. I'm going to say 60 can be the midpoint to 70.

Not sure how true this is but I read somewhere that it takes the same amount of xp to get from 1 to 50 that it takes to get from 51 to 60. It also takes the same amount of xp to get from 1 to 60 that it takes to get from 61 to 70. Not sure how true that is but it seems about right.

If that actually is true then the halfway point would be 60.

Thats sort of scary that all the work it takes to get to 60 is only half of what it takes for 70.

Yeah, but the work from 60-70 feels so much more potent each level. Instead of just "wow, my number got higher" you feel like "wow, I just got a bunch of new spells, a higher stat cap, etc."

I would say 51.

I might be superstitious, but I think once you can work on AA's you see a rather large downscale in the amount of exp you get per kill.

Sure, level 69 takes a while, but in my opinion the biggest smack in the face is at 51. People probably just don't notice it as much because at 51 you can still get a hefty PL from a level 70 up until maybe 60-62 range. After that, the 70 sees too many Lt. Blues to move your exp bar (fungus grove anyone? Lol)

I believe they develop the progression of the game in balance with what a character is "capable" of, like at 51 if I really wanted to, I could get a few hundred aa's to sink into extra stats. Thinking back to say Luclin (were aa's around then?), a +5 to Str was a big deal wasn't it? So thereby making a respectable difference in the players abilities at that level. That is worthy of curbing exp (for the devs) so power doesn't come easy.. .. . and then some a-hole made Macroquest. I swear if I ever meet a person using that hack program in RL they'll have reason to take me to court! F*in ruined EQ.. but I digress.

Don't think of the game as what level you are.. Think of it as "Do I have enough AA's for my class at this level?" and then ask, what is half of that? Smiley: lol Just kidding man, valid question indeed, and very interesting about the 51-60, 61-70 same as same as stuff Brudah! Good thread.

What does MQ have anything to do with AAs? Especially AAing back when you're describing. Also, at level 65+ (and 69 a lot too) there's MPG and RSS which are both phenomonal exp. Flying through 65-69 isn't hard if you're just constantly grouping in high exp places, not Fungus Grove.

You can script an entire fight sequence to gain AA's while you're at work, sleeping, etc.

I was talking about a level 70 powerleveling a level 51 toon in fungus grove, and that once you hit level 62 or so, any mobs that would give you decent experience now con light blue to the 70.

If you group with someone that the mob you kill cons green to them, but is worth exp to you, you will get 100% of the exp from the kill. It's an easy way to PL without the worry of an accidental KS from an "outside the group helper".

I apologize, I did misunderstand.

Also, using MQ scripts to AA is really annoying and not really worth the effort. Also, it's Brudish, Brudog, or Brudman.

Well, in my ever so humble opinion, I would put the mid way point at about 56 or 57.

I have to say I agree. It seemed to me that the high 50s (especially level 59-60) took a ridiculous amount to time in relation to getting to level 55. Levels 60-64 grind out pretty easy with LotD in Creators if you are inclined to hurry through those levels, but after that ewww it gets very slow. I set my aas to 10% after level 65 had 98 by level 70 and have since reversed and set 10% to level (I die alot Smiley: lol and the idea of undinging hurts).

No doubt. F'uck levels 56-59. Worst levels in the entire game for all my characters that have made it that high (a whopping two).

Yea I think SOE should consider lowing the amount of exp required to get through the 50's. In this day and time I would venture to say 60+ is easy to gain simply because there is more people to group with at 60+ compared to 50 to 60. I know I am struggling to gain exp at lvl 28 now because there is absolutely NOBODY ever LFG my level anymore. I would love to grind to 50 through LDON, but I just don't see that happening with the population the way it is. Looks like I am soloing my way up.

My usual group recently worked hard on leveling my wife's enchanter.

The rest of us were level 70. She started grouping with us at 46. We fought a lot in NC and eventually moved to RCOD once she was high enough.

We found that she leveled quickly from 46 to level 51.

From level 51 to 58 she really slowed down on leveling.

At 59, the level difference seemed to disappear and she went from 59 to 63 in about 16 hours of game time.

Now she is at 66, and enjoying that hell level.

Going back to the OP question, my guess would be somewhere between 58-60 is the halfway point.

Just wondering from an outsider's perspective --

How many hours/days of playtime does it take the average player to reach L70?

I considered myself a pretty average player, and had played over 16 days at level 66/96AAs. I was also a tradeskill nut though, and did a lot of AFK foraging.

I'm a pretty Casual player, for me it was 25 days to 70 (+GM jeweler and 150+ all other tradseskills)

it took my fist toon about 35 days played to reach 65. it gets faster as new expansions have better xp and you know how to play more efficently. I'd guess 55 is halfway to 70.
