Ok, I dont know if it is just me, but I have been hearing a lot about a new server from friends etc. The basic idea I have of this server is that everybody will start out with no expansions, just eq classic until you successfully kill the raid mob needed in order to get the next expansion for the server. Also I heard that there would be allowed only 1 character per account per server in order to prevent twinking. If anybody could correct me, or provide me with some more information, that would be nice.
Also-- I was wondering, if this does turn out that way; that would mean no POK no nothing... all oldschool classes. Due to this I was wondering if I could get some input on which class I should create.
I have a 70 bard atm, and I loved him all the way up from level 1. YET bards are expensive to have, which could cause problems on the long run via the new server. Necromancers are pretty good all around easily obtainable gear, nice pets, only problem is spells. Shamans, hmm, Never really had the time to play around with a shaman, and I am not so sure how they work. Rangers, Well I really do like rangers, but again its a money thing; and there is so many ways to play a ranger. Being me I would probably choose them all haha, both Close range dps, and bow dps. (COSTLY!). Rogues are nice as well, never got into them again like the shammy, but I hear Rogue dps, and Aggro management is really just a savior. Shadow Knights, My first character EVER on everquest, I enjoyed it all the way up to 51 back in 2001 till I decided to get my own account, because I was playing on my brothers account, and he started to play full time. I never played a SK after this.
Last of all, a MONK! Monks have the single most uber dps ever, but not as much hit points to counteract with this dps in oldschool eq kind of like the berserker. Epic is relatively easy, and certainly obtainable with a good bunch of people.
This is where I let you guys give input, and help me out with what class I should create :)
Thanks for reading btw.. Im kinda hopped up on coffee, and I have not had sleep in a day or two.
