Dark, why do you want to know? cause (a) the melee damage is capped at lower levels and (b) usually you hit lvl 10 pretty darn fast these days...

That reasoning still doesn't make a large amount of sense. But berserker, rogue, and monk are probably gonna be the top three.

I got bored a few months ago with my 70 Dwarf warrior. So, I made him a bunch of Dwarf little brothers. One of each class that I had room for.
Rogue, Cleric, Bezerker, Paladin.
From the best to the worst in that order.
Rogue .. right off the bat very capable. very fast and hardy.
Cleric .. enjoyed the spells and decent combat abitlty for the level. And, that combat ability prety much stops past lvl 10 (undead excluded).. Hes a healer not a combatant. No offense intended to those clerics that do not have to run when the tank looses agro. /kneel
Berzerker .. would have ben number one if I had taken him out of the toutorial and bought his tombs and axe components then returned him to the toutorial. Other than that, without them sturdy .. but miserably slow. After he got his Tombs and a somwhat decent weapon .. stand back .. he is a riot to play and has for that level .. an awsome array of nifty tricks in combat.
Paladin .. poor excuse of both a warrior and cleric at that level, and as slow as the zerker with the equipment at that level .. per toutorial. Paladins do not shine untill they can stun a mob mid way to the group .. and then start the dance. No offense to any Paladins out their who have braved the younger days and get-r-done now. /bow
Remember I am commenting only on the Dwarf race/class specifics at levels 1-10.
Other than that Kajolus hit the nail on the head .. lvl 1 threw 10 for each of these new toons for me took a little over one week tops .. and I skiped nothing in the toutorial process.

Ok, you stated you are new, so I am going to point out one little common fact here. As a level 1-10, you don't hit for more than 20 damage. It is a hard cap. Any class, any race, you hit for 20 max.

That leaves us with these factors;

1) Weapon speed.

2) Weapon damage.

Summary; get the lowest delay / 10 dmg weapon you can find, give it to any class, and WHAMMY! You just hit the damage cap. Thank you, and have a nice day = )

He is asking because he will not pay to play, only play Escape to Norrath.

You can level to level 15 in Escape to Norrath by the way. It is just that at level 12, only 3 mobs are dark blue. Overlord Girkan, Krenshin and Slavemaster Ruga. Krenshin is the only dark blue monster at level 13 so its slow going to 15. Krenshin spawns 6 minutes after he is killed.

That said, make a Monk, Berserker or Warrior for straight up damage and tankability. With a Rogue solo, you miss out on the use of Backstab. The Monk can dual wield at level 1 as well.

Aunt who retired a little bit ago on Everquest, but I gotta wait for about 2 months yet :( so im checkin out the trial and learning things from people who play this game a lot and the reason I ask this is because I love dealing tons of damage in combat, not a big fan of magic. So yeah im new and gettin the game around my summer vaction time.

Ok, you dont really care about magic, and you want to do lots of melee damage. Rogue or monk is for you, maybe berzerker.
Rogue is by most players regarded as the best dps,(damage per second) class in the game. However they really need to be grouped to do the damage as the special backstab attack really needs them to be behind the mob.
Monks have special attacks and healing ability, but they have a weight restriction on the goods/loot they can carry. WR (weight reducing) bags can help a bit.
