So now that they have announced a date for the new progression server, who is going to play on it?
I'm not sure it's going to be what everyone thinks it will be and the population will decline pretty swiftly after a coupkle of weeks.
I will probably give it a go since i am leaving for Vanguard on release anyway. So if anyones forming a guild and doesn't mind grouping with an opinionated but funny (in a quirky kinda way)Englishmen give me a heads up.

Vanguard will be run by SOE and will be apart of Station Access, you do not need to leave =).
heh i won't be cancelling EQ untill LONG after i have started Vanguard, i am not THAT silly

I'm not sure if I will or not.
I have finally gotten my main into his twenties and EQ gets more and more fun. I don't like the idea of starting over since (with the lack of groups and me being new to these games and very small play times) it ttok me months to get where I am.

I might make a character just to goof around with. I doubt I'll play it much though. I still have too much to do on my other characters.
Just curious how they will handle the volume, if 10% of the people from ALL the servers decide to make toons on this new server...
Obviously going to be BIG. The lag in some zones will be tremendous until they move on to the other expansions. Imagine day one in Greater Faydark and 50% of the people decide to make wood elves...

Haha! My personal opinion is that this new server is going to be ruled by Wood Elves lol. Hell with the Illusion mask and the authentic ones, everyone's a wood elf! Hell, even my Dark Elf Magician is working on the quest (damnit why cant wood elves get robe graphics, or at least a leather look w/ robe equipped? *sigh*)

I for one will try out new server. I mostly want to try it cause it is touted as being the way EQ was when i started. No twinks, no lev 70 PL people who are not skilled on their toons, no Ebayed people. Just players who want to play EQ how it was meant to be played before POP and before sony screwed everything up w/ giving out nice TRADEABLE items from raid type mobs. Banded and ornate chain will again be the armor everyone is working to get:)

I for one cannot wait for a chance to start over on equal footing!
I'll probably start a toon on the new server to see what it's like, but it will be a side project for me. I don't see myself putting a lot of time into it. I've got too many things I want to do with my mains now as it is.
