Option 1; Check the bestiary for the NPC that gives the MM (the one you are worried about aggro). Cross reference the two NPCs factions. The one you want to kill is Coldain / Dain Frostreaver faction, so presumably if the quest NPC is on the same faction list it will add.

Option 2; Make a newbie toon, go attack your mob, and see first hand if the other one wumps you too = )

Most NPC MM questgivers are not on any faction. They may look like the indigenous peoples but they may as well be in another dimension with respect to the NPCs in the vicinity.

You can wipe out the whole kitty fortress in Stonebrunt and the MM giver wont bat an eyelash.

Although I have not tested this theory in Icewell Keep...

Kriegs is KOS in almost every location that the MM's start in (the goodly areas at least) and, while the residents will attack me on site, the MM mission NPCs never attack or deny me entrance to the MMs.

that's just gross. no, thanks to you i'll never be able to rate anyone.

I'm just saying, it was my question that prompted the 'excellent' post that someone found so valuable. i should get partial credit.

The new MM NPC in the room will not attack you. He will also not assist if you fight Kaavin - I usually kill Kaavin when waiting for the MM.

Beware getting to Kaavin though if you are KoS to Coldain, Dain sees invis and is on his throne during the day (game time). But I think he's only at work from 9-5 or 8-6 - can't remember the exact times - and retires to his bedroom outside of business hours.

Also, Kaavin is a cleric and will CHeal himself.

Where'd that come from Frak? I'd like to think that I have better things to do than create sock puppets to cause problems for myself. Smiley: frown

He drop anything?

Killed him twice and he dropped nothing. not even trash. i'm wondering if he got nerfed with PoR?? i've only seen one of his medallions in the baz, was too expensive to buy. seems that with all the people hanging out in his office the market should be flooded with his necklaces.

Before PoR I had to kill him about 5 times to get the necklace. I haven't seen it after PoR but I've probably only killed him about 4 times since then. He should at least be dropping his head for you pretty often since his head is part of a quest.

Don't give up, it's probably just an uncommon drop.

Edit: I wonder if it is no drop now.
