PoK Armor Quest ProblemsFollow

Background: The wife and I are refugees from another server and have one toon each from scratch on the FV server. We wanted to do them quested non tweek and so far are very satisfied with the results.
Problem: All the seemingly broken quests given out post Toutorial via Castlen Drew and V'Lynn Renloe in the PoK area.
I am not refering to the dismal almost non exestant spawn rate of quest mobs, or the even worse drop rate of the items used to update the quest itself. I am refering to the quest "Elusive Wisps".
In that quest, after you kill your 10th greater wisp, you get the next two steps of the quest.
Step one: Explore the wizard platform in Nektulos Forest.
Step two: Explore the entrance to Lavastorm in the Nektulos Forest.
These seem simple enough, but are buged.
There are alot of proximity trigers in the quests. The sucesfull ones like:
Explore the entrance to Crushbone in the "Children of the Fay" ... works.
Explore the chessboard in the "Haunted Butcherblock" ... works
Explore the entrance to Blackborow in that quest ... works.
You just have to get close enough to these areas and the quest would triger .. and you would move on.
We have explored every inch of the only wizard platform in the Nektulos forest on the FV server and it will not update the quest.
And, as far as the entrance to Lavastorm goes, ... there is absolutly no excuse in that narrow trench for the quest to not triger and update.
I have, and the others with me have, filed numerous bug reports and petitions.
The response is textbook passing of the buck by those Admin Gm's who have responded with: Glad to see you have completed the quest - to - We are not aware of any problem concerning this quest.
I will add this then close.
If Your home town has its own armor quest for starter players, IE: Brells Blessed Armor for Dwarf Clerics. Do those quests instead.
Reason being, The quests that V'Lynn Renloe (not Castlen Drew) are duplicate quests with the reward of a note for your #trial. These #trial quests will pay you in the same armor that your guild master has sent you out to collect peices for.
The pay off for the Castlen Drew quest called "Elusive Wisps" is the Wispglow Earring.
Thank yall for allowing me to vent.

Those AoE task triggers can be tricky. I had alot of problems with the Blackburrow task myself, did the /bug /petition /rant etc to no avail. I just played another toon for a couple weeks, came back to it, and Whammy! Task updated right away.

The task was working for others during my failure period, as we were leveling our lowbies together, so I have no clue why I couldn't get the trigger to kick. /shrug

In the meantime, a nice earring drops in Lavastorm for little toons from Molgo (Link) the named Cinder Goblin outside of Naggy's. That camp might pass the time for your quest to mystically fix itself!

Thank you Komzur for the approprate link to an untwink upgrade.
Anything in an empty slot is.
The wife and I are also going to brave a few of the MM's that we can survive a trip to hail the NPC quest giver to get.
I didnt think about trying another toon to see if the quest would unfold for that character. But, we have 8 on another server, our original server, and are limited to one(from what I was told) on our new home FV. And, we were not alone in not getting the proximity AoE to triger and update the quest.
Thank you again for the link.

Wisps seem to be a problem for a lot of peeps at the moment.

I'm not sure if this has been broken in recent patches....but I seem to recall going up to the very top of the wizard spire in the center and that causing it to trigger. I know you said you had been over every inch of it, but perhaps you didn't actually climb up it?

Just a thought.

My youthful shaman is camped on top of the wizard spire (A. Bayle) every time I log on he goes for a short job around the top.

I have had other toons trigger on the top after the revamp.

So far my boys have 10 of the earings. (10 diffrent toons).

Thank you both for sugesting the top of the platform ... Unfortunatly I have been up there .. even jumped in the two little holes on top and nothing.
BTW I carved a mesage in Dwarvish in the center of the top of the platform .. If you can read it I appologize for the language ... lol

I am unsure about FV but I can attest to having multiple toons on multiple servers, IE 8 on luclin and at least 2 or 3 on two other servers. Just some fyi, and please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

I know it's not working at the mo. That's why my kitty shammy is up there. I have a que of toons waiting for this to be fixed. Then it's wispglow city.

FV is a single toon per player per account server. Someone said it was the trade off for the no - no drop rule.

I just completed the Elusive Wisp quest with my baby druid, who cannot track yet. The greater wisp spawn in the southern part of the halfling camp. Head north, take the first right aournd one of those most annoying hedges and greater wisps will spawn just befor you get to the river. Took me about 2 hours to get all the wisps, and they seem to spawn in pairs, about 15 minutes apart. One will spawn in the halfling camp, and within a couple of minutes (enough time for baby druid to med up again) the second one will spawn near the river. Wait 15 minutes or so, rinse and repete.
