The PatcherFollow

1. I have a clone of EQ so I can play my 2 accounts at the same time. Nothing new or special about it. But on one account I get the "fast file check"... you know, where it fairly rips thru the yellow bars quite quickly. And on the other, it doesn't... pokes along at the usual slow & steady rate.

What's up with that ??

2. The "Cancel" button. It doesn't do anything. I mean you have to go thru the file check anyhow, and then it gives you the "play" option. Pick play and you will.

HuH ?

You no longer need a "clone" file to multibox EQ on one computer.

Note: You can only run the patcher one at a time, but once you pass the patcher you can run it again to open a second, tirtiary, etc. login screen o login to another account.

Once you have run the patcher, any additional patcher runs will "fast-patch" until a certain time has elapsed, usually an hour in my experience before the patcher refreshes.

You can also bypass the patcher if it is giving you issues by running the game .exe directly, but keep in mind the game may not run properly if you fail to keep your updates current.

I hope this is helpful to some extent.

Here's some additional notes for multi-boxing on one computer;

Windowed mode:
C drive / Program files / Sony / Everquest / eqclient (Open with notepad and save the following settings, and make sure you read them correctly, there are several settings that have similar names so make sure you adjust the exact ones listed below)

Adjust these settings to make the screen fit so as to display your windows taskbar and hide all the borders of the game window:

WindowedModeXOffset=-2
WindowedModeYOffset=-29

WindowedWidth=1023
WindowedHeight=735

Warning: This will totally mess up your UI arrangement so you will need to reposition all your in game UI windows.

Please note this is for a standard 1024 x 768 resolution

This should allow you to not only ALT + TAB between windows, but also manually mouse click between them. The only mentionable bug to this is when you use your mouse to click between windows, it will open the text cursor in your chat window.

Disclaimer: This isn't a hack, it's not illegal to do. All this does is adjust the window size and position.

What program do you execute to bypass the patcher??

Have tried:
EQ.exe (runs patcher)
everquest.exe (runs patcher)
eqgame.exe (said to run everquest.exe)

eqgame.exe but you have to type something after that (another words run it from command prompt. There used to be a nice program called eqw however I think DOD broke it and the author has left eq YEARS ago so its pretty much dead. The website is (was) eqwindows.com I think. I loved that program though it skipped the patcher and was really easy and bug free for multiboxing.

make a shortcut to eqgame.exe and right click the shortcut and go to properties then where it says target it *should say "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe"

just add patchme after so it looks like this "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

leave the quotes though!

then you can bypass the patcher

But it will be alot slower. using the same files consecutively between both instances of EQ is very very slow. having 2 seperate directories is a very good idea.

use wineq then you don't have to run the patcher at all. and it will also help you run two at once better.

only time you will need to run the patcher is after a patch.
