I assume you mean the skill window. The only languages that show in the skill window are the one you have skill in. You need to learn the other languages in order for them to show up. There are 25 in total.

Check your class trainer. He/she should have more listed that you could put a point in each one, then they will show in your skills window.

Your skill will go up from zero if someone spams you a bit of the language in group. A lot of times to start a newbie language lesson, I will spam a bunch of them, get them to 10 or 12, from there they can go up with others of similar level. I think it's better to have a whole bunch of them you can work on.

I ended up getting all of them maxed out, it's fun to pull out for obscure situations or if you wear a Tainted Heartstone. If you want to level them up, you can make a hotkey that spams stuff in groupsay and if somebody else with at least 1 skill point does it also, eventually you can both be maxed out in whatever language, so don't fret on finding somebody that already has it maxed.

Speaking of Languages tho, I seem to notice alot of people get ticked off when I try to teach someone languages in group. One guy got so ticked when i was teaching a friend of mine combine, that he broke group and attempted to train the rest of us who wanted to learn...

He kept whining about all the spam....

Anyone else notice this by chance or is it my imagination?

Well, if you're spamming in the middle of an exp group I can see that. Usually it's good to do it secluded in the PoK or something.

The only time when I did group study sessions with strangers was on double EXP weekend between the Highpass MM's. To refresh everyone, the MM's had a recharge of 45 minutes but could be completed in about 17, or as low as 15 or 16 in some cases with a sharp group.. lots of free time inbetween (half an hour!).

Normally, I just warned group I was able to spam, along with the reason why, which I saved to a hotkey. It also invited them to put me on Ignore until the start of the next mission if they weren't interested. Most people seemed to go AFK (as they would've it I wasn't spamming anyhow) or join me in spamming. I can't remember anyone actually ignoring, though one guy did say he had 100 in one of the langauges, so I'm not sure why he didn't. No one ever complained.. guess you just need to give a head's up and offer a simple solution to it before starting.

Probably not a good idea to do it in a group that is playing. We spam the Preamble in the GH when we are just sitting around waiting for splits and so forth. Takes 15 minutes to max a language for us. It is fun in down time.

Maxing all of your languages is also nice if you want to buy a Tainted Heartstone. Relatively cheap in the bazaar and a decent charm to boot!
