I was reading this write up here https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3061

I really want to start working on these quests - it appears the Tier 1 quests are all solo quests, so I assume everyone in the group should get the quest themselves and then we work on them until everyone has completed them right?

Next the Tier 2 quests - is just one of these a group quest?

How are most folks handling the DoN progression? Are the solo tasks necessary?

Just looking for some advice as I am going to be leading a group in my guild through this

Yes, the solo tasks are required and yes for most characters at least a duo is required to accomplish them. Tier 1 has one Group "quest" and Tier 2 has one Raid drop required (6 bits drop for a raid of max 24 people) and a group mission as well as each tier having 3 solo tasks. As you progress thru the DON AA's they are less about solo tasks and more about raiding.

That being said. I think everyone should be able to finish thru Tier 2 if they want it. I participated in a pick up Emoush raid the other day that won easily. /sigh winning the quest bit will be more of a challenge tho...
