I am having problems finding the distillery in shadowhaven and I have searched this site for over an hour... can someone please tell me how to find it?

You talking about a brew barrel? or a building? Try looking at eqatlas.
if you are talking about a brewing barrel you can find one in the bulding on poles on your way to PC
