Czae...another melee questionFollow

#1 Apr 22 2006 at 12:11 AM Rating: Good
First I should say that I decided to come back when the progression server starts up(I'd really like to start a raid guild for it /wink >_>)

Now onto the melee question

warrior DPS

dual wield vs 2h weapons(for dual wield say swiftcleave with a LPoS aug in it and shademaul with a Tear of Deepest Regrets aug in it(3 dmg)????

really depends on weapons and aa setup.

generally, with my weapons and aa setup, they were pretty comparable, but 2h drew a lot less aggro.

and yeah, I'm intending to be raidin on the progression server =p

If your planning on playing on prgression server dont count on seeing any augs for atleast nine months.

Also you really wont have much choice in weapons you will need to use 1hand weapons are you wont be able to hold agro off rogues monks rangers.

Errr... you want to come back for progressive server?

Gosh if you playing progression why you talking about stuff that wont be available for like a year?

Seriously not to pick but if you planning on coming back look at what will be there not dream gear.
#5 Apr 22 2006 at 12:28 AM Rating: Decent
it amuses me that a lot of people on the board can't realize when you're talking about two different things =p
#6 Apr 22 2006 at 12:34 AM Rating: Decent
with those particular weapons, they'd out dps most 2h setups. I have a feeling they'd outdps Eulogy and comparable weapons, but I don't actually have any of them so can't say 100%.
#7 Apr 22 2006 at 12:45 AM Rating: Decent
also, elor, read my sig, plzkthx.
#8 Apr 22 2006 at 12:50 AM Rating: Decent
A) Thank you czae
B) Aggro issues don't bother me since I am talking warrior DPS(IE not MT)
C) OT but would Eulogy out DPS zerker 2.0 for a zerker??
D) Thank you for informing me that anguish+ gear wont be available to me in the first 3 days of the prog server =p

What class are you going to be czae??

Im thinking of Necro or wiz(I love the wiz.........but necros are nice as well =p)

#9 Apr 22 2006 at 12:53 AM Rating: Decent
I'm probably going to be a bard, just because it'll be easier to play one in the oldworld with horrid gear than most other classes.

And Eulogy won't outdamage zerk 2.0, but it does have a much better name.

oh, also: duh, but Eulogy is pal/sk only. I just couldn't think of a really high end war blade off the top of my head.

Talk about eulogy applies to other 2h of it's level.

a) 99% chance that zerk 2.0 will win
b) look at my leet sig!
c) don't be a bard, a guild cant kill nagafen with 50 bards =p

gotcha reread that and my bad 1st statement then question.

Except for the part where you say I dont play but am thinking of coming back with progression server but have an unrelated melee question.

So still gotta say erm?

If you are thinking about coming back with progression server why bother people with melee question in case that is not clear.

Edit-- and if you are asking for the sake of the new toon please ignore apology I was right all along and you need to look at gear that is there.

B) I have it faved!!......I AM NOT MENTAL.......I am Psychologically impaired
C) Pfft 50 bards>naggy >_> But no I think I'll go wizzy....again.........I just love blowing **** up......and when GoD comes along I might make a zerker just for ****s and giggles and some nice melee DPS(though a necro would be easier to lvl and would do about wizzy DPS....if not more(friggin necros and their secret DPS....))

Super secret DPS is nice. Mana fire hose (having self mana regen > Enchanter) is nicer. Lifetaps for the oh **** moments coupled with Feign for the win.

I have been told by people I trust that leveling a bard 1-60 is faster than a Necro.

I tried it with a Wizard (which I loved!).. and while I bet you quad way better than I learned to (in a few nights).. it was so bloody painful waiting for my mana to regen. Too slow!

And this is my level 30s Wizard with FT15 worn and pocket 70 Enchanter.

Maybe this gets better later? Or is it still "quad, med for eight minutes, repeat"?
#16 Apr 24 2006 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
It's more quad until you get a group then mooch EXP from the group while you med >_>

Too bad the new server will probably not change my lack of people to play with regularly, or I'd join you two hosers.

Another question for you, Czae. I am a level 70 shammy, and never heard this question, much less the answer.

Are there combat situations (or characters) where Spirit of the Leopard can reduce someone's combat effectiveness?

Came up in a group and I figured you would be the one to know.
#20 Apr 30 2006 at 12:37 PM Rating: Good
none that I can think of, at least.

Perhaps adding procs gave someone unwanted aggro (ranger, rogue) or was filling up buff slots for self-target procs/buffs? That's all I can think of...

Panther's pretty minimal aggro, and it's definitely a better proc than any selfbuffs it would be blocking.

"offset exploits" sounds so sinister.

I'm using something to edit the client's memory to let you /assist while casting, and wondering what the point is in it being against the EULA, yes.
