The problem with LDoN was like of item upkeep.
They could ahve kept adding onto the list to keep it popular and maybe finished the raids!

Dunno if it was an offical nerf but somewhere in there the money went down from doing Ldons. No clue on the experience and I never tracked it but member thinking wow this good money then like um where the money?

I was talking about this in Guild today and we think perhaps it was Xp slowing when reaching the end of a level group.

Certainly i was getting 15% per LDoN at some point in the 50's(LvL 56/57 maybe it's been a while) and only 6/7% when also in the 50's (Not 59 since i spent all of that in PoV.) it may well be that towards the end of a level range the xp dropped off and then shot up again once you jumped to the next level range.

Money was never really an issue for me in Xp groups.

xp slows down at the end of a level range.

xp also has slowed down for most people since they let you pick your mission style. coincidentally, that's when everyone started crying nerf. everyone measures xp per ldon and doesnt realize that some types have you killing 2-3x the mobs...

After GOD came out the exp in LDON was absolutely pitiful. My warrior was doing them (lvl 52 at the time) and I was only getting about half the exp as I was pre GOD. I don't care what SOE said it got nerfed.

As for my least favorite I would say DODH, GOD, and LOY. I never played POR. DODH was ok till they nerfed that crap out of it. I feel like SOE released it like that on purpose, letting people exploit it so they would pass the news by word of mouth. Then after everybody bought it they nerfed it since they now have our money. They should have known it was too easy from the beta testers etc etc.

My problem with GOD was the high end content, and the fact you can't go ANYWHERE without a full group or RELIABLE invis. LOY was just plain boreing IMO. It was more of a utility offering new spells extra bank slots etc etc. IMO most of that stuff should have been free as part of the $15 people pay per month.

DoDH didn't suffer a huge nerf. One aspect of it did. You can still find comparable xp elsewhere, and 98% of the expansions features are intact.

the xp per kill is identical.

the number of mobs is exactly the same.

they hit the same.

pretty sure its as I said earlier:

I think part of it is people got used to Ldon exp at 65 and it was good doing hards at 65 but ldons never got scaled to 70 and the exp there sucks at 70.

LDoN experience was always less than par. Sony considered the LDoN points and chests to be part of the reward, so EXP is nerfed in LDoN. This isn't to say it's lower than when it was released, just that it was released lower.

This said, LDoN's often been good EXP for me. Despite lower EXP per MOB kill, I've almost always been able to get single pulls, easy MOBs, some points for fun and the upgrading charm aug was neat.. but, most importantly, I could just go to PoK, round up a group, and get in one in under ten minutes, then either redo and replace or call it a morning/afternoon/evening/night/some-time-I-should've-really-been-in-bed-much-like-right-now. Since groups were abundant, and I could create/find groups and use the time I did have for EXPing, for, well, EXPing!

And, hey. When you complete a "Hard" LDoN in under thirty minutes with cheaply-geared players, it's an ego boast. (And, yeah, getting owned by the a curse that the group noob opened while you're fighting a mispulled train was something of an ego pot hole.)
