Yeah, GoD and LoY are ontrack for my opinion. LoY wins out for me, since, well.. all I can remember is taking my high-level Druid into the content and camping a light-blue named in hopes of a rare Charm drop with this Wizard-Necro duo kept trying to hunt me down.
I still am embittered with PoPower for destroying our notions of an expansive world and powerful dieties. The gods suddenly became mortal.. very much so.. and Norrath shrunk dramatically. I mean, com'n, I've heard some complaining that high-end trash is now more powerful than some of the PoP gods.
SoLuclin earns an honorable mention for The Nexus, which also shrunk Norrath, but it didn't do so as badly. This, plus some of the content in it was kinda neat. /auction WTS Centi LS! I liked it overall, just not The Nexus.
Kunark was great, same with Velious. Luclin was pretty good.. lots of camping though, right? PoP was great in that it introduced progression, well, great for many, but I still dislike it's shrinking and standardizing effects, not to mention the lore complications. LoY wasn't.. much of anything.. LDoN was great for being able to get a quick group, even if the EXP wasn't up to par. I basically quit after this, so I can't really comment on the rest. Came back a lil bit during the DoD era and loved the MM's, but they got monotonous and people seemed to complain about them a great deal.
All makes you miss Verant, huh?
