I am going to start up another EQ account. I know I need to buy another copy of EQ Titanium and pay for 2 accounts, but how do I get two game screens up at the same time? I am not as computer savvy as some here.

Please be very detailed in your answer. I know there is a tech forum here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.(see my comp. savvyness kicking in again)If you could link that forum that would be fine as well.

There are 2 ways to do this. First after 1 instance of EQ is running alt-enter out and start a second session. You can run both ( if your PC can handle it ) in 2 smaller windows. The second way and the way I prefer is to use wineq2. There is a small donation to use it but you can run in simulated full screen mode and filp in between both instances almost instantly.

well here are some other options:

http://www.eqwindows.com/

that is what i used to use when i used to run 2 instances of EQ at the same time. follow their HOWTO and you will be ok. not sure if that is a good program to use any more. last new news on the front page of that link if from 2004.

basics are as follows:

you can either use EQW, or you can use the "built in windowed mode from SoE". i never liked the performance from the SoE vs of windowed as it is no better then the rest of the code fo EQ... very pore and not really up to par.

fire up your first instance. login and get INTO the game BEFORE you start up the 2nd instance. then start the 2nd instance.

i sujest using something to clean up your RAM like Memturbo or memwasher. EQ is 1 gigantic memory leak and running 2 instances of that gigantic memory leak will CRASH your system if you do not take precaustions to prevent it.

make sure 100% of the sound is off on the 2nd instance, and depending on your system specs maybe even on the 1st instance too. on the 2nd instance it might be a good idea to turn off a lot of the graphical stuff like partical effects, Luclin mods, etc... it is just there to make a mini group anyways, so does not need to look nice. no need to have eye candy on the 2nd instance.

then you can just alt+tab between the 2 instances. depending on the power of your vid card, CPU, and RAM will depend on how fast you will be able to alt+tab between the 2 instances.

with the following system i was able to alt+tab instantly pre gOd expansion:

P4 2.4G 800Mhz FSB
1G pc3200 ram
ATI 9600 128M vid card
sATA drive 7200rpm 8M cache

so if you have at least that or better you should be ok with the above info.

good luck.

[edit to add]

after digging around the EQW site and the site for winEQ, i would sujest going with the winEQ over EQW. looks like the guy who made EQW is not around and has not been around since 04.

winEQ has 2 vs. a free and a pay for vs. does not look to much for the pay for and seems to offer a lot of really good info.
