Ok, I've been playing EQ for 5 years and just took a year break. I'm coming back with a new account and need a server that is populated and has cheap bazaar prices. I played my friend's account for an hour or so on Povar and saw that Centi Shortswords were 1.5k???? I used to be able to buy those for 300pp. I know, as a newbie that it's hard to get any money at all for gear.
So i'm looking for a server that is populated, has alot of helpful players, and has cheap bazaar prices.
Any help?

Pick several items, go into each server and check the bazaar. Unless someone plays on all the servers, they won't know.
Prices are higher than they were because people have more money, from buying it or playing for so long or whatever. Not as many people farming low end items, so they cost more, people twinking alts willing to spend more.

I've got to say though, it's definitely not as hard as it used to be to raise plat as a newbie now. Seems like merchants are buying low level drops for a lot more than they used to.
Definitely easier to raise plat these days, even without the bazaar. For instance, I also returned this wek after about two years away and started a new account. By the end of my first day of play I had accumulated 25pp. Now it's been awhile, but that ain't how it used to be, I'm relatively sure.
so what server are most of you playing on?
are there any servers that have a good population that is not full of rude players, etc...
are there even servers that have populations high enough to get PUG with most classes?
are BL, still shunned, are zerkerz still worthless, are druids still the dr00dz?

I play on Quellious, pretty good server with a fairly low level of asshats.
how is the population and are there enough people running around getting pick up groups?
Why are you starting a new account? You do know that your old account is still there and the characters still there as well.
