gamespots review of it a month or two after launch indicates fully functional aas.

is a list of patches. a week after the release of SoL - it has it listed as fixing a bug causing some classes to gain aas way too fast.

so, yeah. aas were in luclin at launch.

there have always been a ton of AA bugs. but the system was in place immediately, and with the basic aas at least (run3 etc) functioning at launch. some stuff like wizzy familiars were bugged, and there was of course class aa tunings... but it was there, functional, and not even the most bugged pos ever at launch.

ok thanks. been way to long. like i stated i left EQ 1 week after gOd expansion and have not been back until tonight, well attempting too.

game is more buggy then before and runs like hell. WoW runs great on my system, but EQ is running slower then if i had an 8086 with 16K of ram.

not happy with the performance of EQ, but then was EQ ever really coded well in its graphic engine since sol?

You should be able to run EQ pretty decently. I mean, I occasionally load a character on a p3 800.

Unless you have an insane computer, you'll lag a lot of places if you put all luclin models on... so it's probably better to just have one or two.

There are an awful lot of driver/card specific issues, though. Might want to check the EQlive tech boards to see if you fall in to that category.

Jeez, Luclin sucked. I started playing 2 weeks before SoL was released and was hooked in a bad way, then the expansion went live and I couldn't play for 3 days. What a cluster&#@! that was. Whenever people complaing about patches after the patches and the downtime, I just think back to SoL's release and count myself lucky.

And Actually, I think there are 3 different game engines playing in EQ right now. Luclin was the second game engine, and I think GoD was the 3rd. Tunare 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. Originally The GoD expansion was suppose to be just one big expansion with Tunare 3.0 released for free, but they broke it into 3 parts and charged us for the engine upgrade. That's part of the reason why the GoD raid zones were so difficult. They were originally designed for level 70 players which didn't happen until OOW was released.

oh, and POP was when cap was raised to 65

GoD was supposed to be just as big as GoD was. It was originally intended to have a level cap raise to 67, which wasn't implemented... but OoW wasn't supposed to be part of GoD.

Also, most GoD zones weren't actually all too hard. Ikkinz raids were pretty fun. Uqua was impossible - the main reason behind that was the dev in charge of it quit partway through the expansion, and no one picked up his slack.

I read a message from one of the devs while they were talking about tunare 3.0 that they broke up the original idea for the GoD expansion into smaller pieces, i.e more expansions. The original scope was just too large to get all the ideas they had into one expansion and make it cost effective. The game engine upgrade was originally suppose to be free...

The first real looking water came with GoD. I had one account with it, and one without and the one without had the flat, ugly water and there was no way to change it. That effect was from the game engine upgrade that came with GoD.

It may have been free in the later expansions, like the 70 limit upgrade that purchasers of DoN enjoyed without purchasing OOW.

turned out to be some currupt files. removed and reinstalled EQ, seems to be running better. still not as good as i would like, but we are talking EQ here and SoE/Sony code so what can i expect.

Remember, EQ does not need to be installed. You can make a backup copy, and if you lose hard drive, just copy it back. Doing it frequently prevents long patching.

It must have been, since I don't even have GoD but I do have "nice" water (in newer zones, at least).
