My main is a lvl 70 mage. I raid once in a while, but RL time constraints limit that and other group work. I want to develop another toon on a second account to duo with my DE mage. Any suggestions on the best class/race to use would be greatly appreciated. There is very little that I can solo for AA's or gear upgrades. That was a shock. And most MM's are nerfed.

I also plan on getting a new high end Dell computer so expect no technical/lagg issues.

Thanks

I think the best compliment to a mage would be a Shaman. Mage has pet for tanking and DPS, whereas the Shaman can buff, slow and heal, among other things.

I agree with Debalic, the Shaman would probably be the best class. You might also look into a Beastlord, you still get slows and buffs but you get more dps too. Just something else to look at.

hands down a shaman infact the top 4 duos in the game are Necro/Shaman, Mage/Shaman, Pally/Shaman(getting a pattern here =p) and bst/cleric(or druid).

Your pet makes a great tank(Air pet=p) plus the shamans pet(and later on the shaman himself) off tank wonderfully, then you ahve the slow which is the single greatest spell in the game! AMazing HoTs fast heals and buffs......
You box a shaman and you will rock!

The one caveat is to beware the needs of two boxing two casting characters. It can be a bit of a challenge. What I tend to do is to Burn the manna in one, then switch to the other toon to cast. Note however I two box paladins, or a Beast/Enchanter.

I didn't know, however, that Dell made high end computers.

yes alien ware was bought out by Dell for an undisclosed amount.

anyways, yes a shammy is a great partner for all nukers, but nothing is more deadly then the shammy/necro combo as mentioned above.

my main was a necro and i was in hog heaven when ever a shammy was around for buffs. i had mana for ever and life for ever due to the shammy buffs.

as for it being an issue with 2 caster classes, not really. just make macros for the "off toon" and you will be set.

it does help to have a very powerful vid card and plenty of ram to make the swapping between the 2 screens faster, unless you have a 2nd game box next to your main game box. then it is just a matter of swapping hands from one keyboard to the other.
