I am going this year, and several in our guild are also. So far it looks like about 30 from our server (Bertoxxulos) are going. It happens to be in Atlanta this year and many of us are close by.
You can check out the fan faire site and check attendees and it will show character names that have registered already if you are interested to see if any from your server are going.
It looks like fun and we are costuming for it too!! Worse than trekkies, we are! lol
One thing I have noticed is Sony keeps extending the on line registration deadline.

Ive never been to one, but if one comes near where I live, I would go. Probably on my knees, dressed as a Gnome ;-)
I have been to every one of them for last 3 years. I am going to miss this one though due to time contraints. It's not too bad of an event. Is it worth the money you pay for? Probably not. It's nice to meet people from your server live. Also, it's a good chance to visit city you have never been to, like Chicago and New Orleans.
I will probably go to the next one if it's in Las Vegas. It's always fun in Vegas whether for Fan Fair or not.
