#1 Mar 12 2006 at 4:12 PM Rating: Decent
Hi, i just got EQ titanium and i'm going to play for the first time, though i used to play EQOA and a little EQ2. Can anyone suggest a good server to join with a good community? I could use a good, helpful guild to join too. Thank you.

Povar, Stromm or Maelin Starpyre would be your best bets for servers.

On any server there will be mostly only topped out toons, but with perseverence you'll be able to find people to play with at all levels.

I was in the tutorial on Stromm last week and there were 43 people in the zone. So people, even though they may just be alts, are still making new characters.

Good Luck.

I just got back into EQ after 5 years off the game. I played on 7th Hammer before, so I went back to it. I find the same, mostly 65+ lvl characters, but I find groups fairly easy for my lvl 27 Shammy in certain zones. Plus, if you can get into a good guild (not a guild that spams in /ooc all day long looking for someone, saying they have 400+ players, which only 11 of them actually play anymore) you can get plenty of help. I am a member of Savage Fury, and am really low level compared to the other guildies. However, they are always happy to lend a helping hand, answer questions, and most of them have lower level alts that they will login and group with me sometimes, just to help me level. I would say it depends what type of game experience you are looking for. If you are like me and dont want the whole game handed to you by power leveling, items just given to you, etc and actually want to work your way through the levels, that experience is still out there if you look for it. Hope it helps someone out a bit.

Povar also seems to have a decent population of lower levels, all things considered. Alot of alts I think, who seem to get some decent playtime. The tutorial was pretty crowded on Friday night.

You'll have to work a little harder for groups as most folks I see do not use the LFG tool until 60+ for some reason. The lower level group finding certainly seems alot easier now, though, than I recall a few months back. You just need to figure out what zones people are in. I think the universal chat newbie thingy helps some too (assuming it's available...).

I starting playing Everquest on the Povar server about 6 months ago. I find some groups but not many and not hardly ever with the same people.

I was wondering if another server might be better.

Povar is a great low level server. A few weekends ago I made an Iksar alt and after getting to around level 7 took him to Kurn's. No problem getting a full group the whole time I was in there and whenever someone left there was always someone to take their place.

Hope this helps :)

I like Bertoxxulos, as that is where I play. Most people are nice, helpful and friendly. Finding a good family guild for a newbie would be what I would do. Usually family guilds are aimed at growing toons. Ours is anyway. Good luck!
